Sales Director

The Company

Our client is a well-established market leader within the building materials and construction products sector, supplying trade customers across Ireland.

Operating as part of a wider international group, the business has a strong market position, long-standing customer relationships and a highly service-led model. It is now seeking to appoint a Sales Director to lead the next phase of commercial growth.

The Role

The Sales Director will lead the Irish sales function, with responsibility for protecting the existing customer base, improving commercial returns and driving new business growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the sales team and deliver agreed revenue, margin and performance targets.
• Develop key customer relationships across the building materials, merchant and trade sectors.
• Identify and win new business and increase market share.
• Lead commercial negotiations across pricing, terms and rebates.
• Strengthen sales forecasting, reporting and performance management.
• Work closely with Product, Purchasing and Marketing to support wider growth.

The Person

The successful candidate will be an experienced sales leader from a building materials, construction products or broader B2B distribution environment.

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong sales leadership experience.
• A track record of managing major customer relationships.
• Evidence of winning new business and growing market share.
• Strong commercial negotiation and margin management capability.
• Experience managing revenue targets and sales performance.
• Relevant experience across building materials, builders' merchant supply, hardware, plumbing, electrical or industrial distribution.

This opportunity will suit a Sales Director, Head of Sales or senior commercial leader ready to take on a broader leadership role within an established market-leading business.
