Sales & Retail Analytics Associate Location: Yorba Linda, California Position Type: Part Time 20 hours per week. $20 - $35 per hour Department: Sales Associate / Retail Analytics Reports To: Sales Manager / Account Manager Position Summary We are seeking a motivated, analytical Sales & Retail Analytics Associate to support our sales team in managing and growing our Retail and Licensing business. This position will provide hands-on experience working with Walmart's retail reporting and analytics platforms, including Scintilla and Retail Link , to analyze sales performance, inventory, store-level trends, and other key retail metrics. The Associate will also help to develop new accounts, working closely with the sales team to turn retail and product data into clear, actionable reports that help identify opportunities, address potential issues, and support sales and inventory decisions. This is an excellent opportunity if you are interested in consumer products, retail sales, merchandising, category management, or data analytics . Key Responsibilities - Access and utilize Walmart Retail Link and Scintilla to retrieve sales, inventory, store, item, and performance data. - Create and maintain weekly and monthly Walmart sales reports and dashboards. - Analyze POS sales, units, inventory levels, weeks of supply, sell-through, in-stock performance, and store-level results . - Identify top- and bottom-performing items, stores, markets, and regions. - Monitor sales trends and flag significant changes or potential issues for the sales team. - Develop reports comparing current performance to prior periods, forecasts, plans, and internal sales goals. - Prepare Excel-based reports, charts, summaries, and presentations for internal sales meetings and customer presentations. - Develop and follow up on Sales Leads. - Support the client and inhouse sales team with preparation for buyer meetings, line reviews, and business reviews. - Maintain organized historical reporting to help the company track retail performance over time. - Assist with additional sales analysis and administrative projects as needed. Qualifications - Have previous experience in and or currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field . - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel , including formulas, PivotTables, sorting/filtering, and data analysis. - Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. - Ability to work with large datasets and communicate key findings in a simple, understandable manner. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Professional written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to handle confidential company and customer information appropriately. - Previous retail, consumer products, sales, or analytical experience is helpful but not required. Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience with Walmart Retail Link and/or Scintilla is highly desirable, but not required. - Familiarity with retail terminology and retail metrics such as POS, comp sales, in-stock, sell-through, weeks of supply, and inventory turns. - Experience creating dashboards and recurring management reports. - Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables, charts, and data validation. - Familiarity with PowerPoint and presentation development. - Interest in pursuing a career in retail sales, account management, category management, merchandising, or consumer products. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who has at least 3 years of office, excel and word experience and is naturally curious about businesses and enjoys figuring out forecasting and analytics and recognized the opportunity to learn an integral piece of Walmart’s systems . If you are a student, we prefer a student enrolled in a Master program or a Senior Level Undergraduate with work experience. This could evolve into a permanent full- time position. We are looking for someone who is organized, comfortable with technology, willing to learn, and interested in gaining real-world experience rather than simply observing a sales department.
