RFHW Systems Engineer - Connectivity/NFC
- Hardware
The RFHW Systems Engineer, Connectivity/NFC will work on the next-generation iPhone and other innovative products. You will be part of a world-class RF Design team, acting as the team’s local technical expert at manufacturing sites in China and towards relevant module suppliers in the region - combining deep hardware engineering expertise with modern AI-assisted workflow creation to drive engineering efficiency, design quality and fast-paced root-cause isolation from early prototype through mass production.
You will collaborate across R&D departments and manufacturing sites to design, build, validate, and optimize Connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB) and NFC RF hardware systems for Apple products from first prototype build to mass production, ensuring seamless integration of wireless systems into consumer products. In this role, you will leverage modern AI tools to develop agentic workflows that automate, streamline, and transform traditional RF engineering tasks. We are looking for someone with an open mindset and the technical agility to explore AI adoption, alongside driving proactive cross-functional collaboration with engineering groups such as Antenna Design, System EE, Production Test, Reliability, Thermal, and FW/SW. Domestic and international travel may be required.
Strong RF fundamentals, including RF matching, passive/active component design, and RF system integration. Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., radio communication testers, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes) for lab testing and characterization. Demonstrated ability to develop tools and agentic workflows to automate design and validation processes. Strong troubleshooting capabilities, leveraging AI tools to conduct commonality studies, analyze large test logs, and synthesize historical FA learnings to accelerate root-cause resolution. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the agility and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Wireless Communication / Electrical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years (for Bachelor’s) or 2+ years (for Master’s) of relevant industry experience.
Be fluent in wireless communication standards and wireless transceiver. Hands-on design, integration, or validation experience spanning Connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB) and NFC technologies. Experience supporting high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing environments. In-depth understanding of antenna theory and design, magnetic induction loops, desense/EMC/EMI mechanisms and practical mitigation techniques. Knowledge of thermal analysis, power management architectures (buck, LDO), and battery/charging interactions with NFC and RF subsystems.
