The Retail & Used Car De-Fleet Manager (Europe) is responsible for leading the end-to-end strategy and operations for vehicle de-fleeting, trade-in management, refurbishment, and sales across the European region. This role is accountable for maximizing vehicle residual values through accurate valuation, effective refurbishment planning, efficient inventory management, and optimized route-to-market decisions. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Fleet, Service, Finance, and Retail Operations teams, the De-Fleet Manager ensures all returned and traded vehicles are processed efficiently, marketed through the most appropriate sales channels, and sold in a manner that maximizes profitability while supporting Lucid's premium brand standards and customer experience. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, establish scalable de-fleet processes, develop strategic remarketing partnerships, and deliver performance through robust KPI management, ensuring a best-in-class used vehicle and Certified Pre-Owned operation across Europe. Key Responsibilities - Lead the valuation, pricing, and resale strategy for all Lucid trade-in and de-fleet vehicles, ensuring accurate vehicle appraisals, margin optimization, and effective route-to-market decisions. - Develop and manage European used vehicle sales channels, including retail, wholesale, auction, and third-party marketplace partnerships, to maximize profitability, speed of sale, and market coverage. - Design and oversee a standardized EU de-fleet process covering vehicle returns, inspections, refurbishment, logistics, storage, and sales readiness. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Service, Retail Operations, Fleet, and Finance teams to ensure efficient vehicle processing and minimize cost leakage. - Define, track, and report key performance indicators related to vehicle turnaround times, refurbishment efficiency, inventory aging, channel performance, and profitability. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, stock turn, customer experience, and financial performance. - Support the implementation and ongoing management of the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program, ensuring vehicles meet brand, quality, and compliance standards. - Manage fleet return processes with leasing and fleet partners, ensuring timely execution, accurate condition assessments, and maximum value recovery from returned vehicles. - Identify and resolve process bottlenecks across the used vehicle lifecycle to improve operational performance and optimize residual value outcomes. - Deliver a premium, end-to-end customer experience, guiding customers through every stage of the sales journey with a consultative approach, tailored solutions, and seamless vehicle delivery and ownership transition. - Build lasting customer relationships and drive brand loyalty by proactively resolving issues, exceeding expectations, and continuously enhancing the customer experience to generate advocacy and satisfaction. - Set up & drive campaigns (GTM) for all regions, in conjunction with the NSCs in relevant markets Qualifications - Experience in Automotive Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline preferred, but not essential. - Minimum of 8 years' proven success in vehicle de-fleet, remarketing, used vehicle operations, or a related automotive industry role. - Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end de-fleet and remarketing operations, including vehicle valuation, refurbishment planning and inventory management. - Strong understanding of residual value management and the commercial drivers impacting profitability across wholesale and auction channels. - Proven experience defining, managing, and reporting on key operational and financial KPIs within a de-fleet/remarketing environment. - Proficient in CRM and business management systems, with Salesforce experience preferred. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships with internal and external partners. - Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset, capable of identifying growth opportunities, driving process improvements, and delivering sustainable business results. - Highly analytical, results-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams and international markets. - Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages are advantageous.
