The role is focused on driving sales growth, delivering exceptional customer experiences, leading and developing the retail team, and ensuring both brands are represented to the highest standards. The Store Manager will play a key role in delivering premium customer experiences, including wedding and formalwear consultations, ensuring every customer journey reflects the quality, craftsmanship, and values of both brands. Key Responsibilities Retail Operations - Manage the daily operation of the Celtic Tweed and Dorian Black retail stores. - Ensure both brands are presented consistently and in line with their respective brand identities. - Maintain high standards of store presentation, merchandising, cleanliness, and housekeeping. - Ensure operational procedures, cash management, security, and health and safety requirements are followed. - Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to the Operations Manager. - Support implementation of seasonal promotions, product launches, and in-store events. Sales & Commercial Performance - Drive retail sales performance across both brands. - Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. - Monitor key retail KPIs, including conversion rates, average transaction value, units per transaction, and customer retention. - Identify opportunities to grow sales through product knowledge, styling expertise, upselling, events, and customer engagement. - Maximise opportunities to convert factory tour visitors into retail customers. - Drive repeat business through exceptional service and relationship building. Customer Experience - Deliver an exceptional and consistent customer experience across both brands. - Act as a brand ambassador for Celtic Tweed and Dorian Black at all times. - Ensure every customer receives knowledgeable, professional, and personalised service. - Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. - Build long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat business, referrals, and positive reviews. - Promote made-to-order services, gifting opportunities, and special collections where appropriate. Wedding & Formalwear Appointments - Manage and deliver wedding, groom, groomsmen, and formalwear appointments to the highest professional standard. - Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire wedding journey, from consultation through to final collection. - Guide customers through styling, fit, fabric, tailoring, and accessory selections while ensuring recommendations reflect brand standards and customer requirements. - Ensure all appointments are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and service standards. - Coordinate fittings, measurements, alterations, production requirements, and collection schedules. - Maintain accurate records of measurements, orders, appointments, customer communications, and timelines. - Follow up proactively with wedding parties to ensure a smooth and professional experience. - Work closely with the production and operations teams to ensure delivery deadlines are achieved. - Maximise revenue opportunities through the sale of accessories, footwear, gifting, and complementary products. - Ensure every wedding and formalwear customer receives a premium experience that reflects the reputation of Celtic Tweed and Dorian Black. - Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to continuously improve the wedding and occasionwear experience. Team Leadership - Recruit, onboard, train, and develop retail team members. - Create and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity. - Seek approval for annual leave requests and manage holiday planning for the retail team. - Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews. - Foster a positive, motivated, and customer-focused culture. - Lead by example through professional conduct, customer service excellence, and accountability. Training & Development - Lead product knowledge training across both brands. - Ensure all team members understand the heritage, craftsmanship, sustainability initiatives, and customer value proposition of both Celtic Tweed and Dorian Black. - Coach team members in customer service, sales performance, styling, and appointment management. - Identify development opportunities and support career progression within the team. - Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement company training and development initiatives. - Support succession planning and talent development. Inventory & Stock Management - Manage inventory accuracy and stock control processes. - Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts. - Monitor stock movement and identify opportunities to improve stock performance. - Coordinate deliveries, stock transfers, replenishment, and returns. - Ensure stock is displayed, stored, and maintained to the highest standards. - Report stock issues, shortages, and opportunities to the Operations Manager. Events & Visitor Experience - Support retail events, customer evenings, product launches, and promotional activities. - Work closely with the Tours & Visitor Experience team to maximise retail opportunities from visitors. - Assist with showroom appointments, VIP visits, and brand experience events. - Help deliver memorable customer experiences that strengthen brand loyalty and engagement. Reporting & Administration - Prepare weekly and monthly retail performance reports. - Monitor sales trends and identify opportunities for improvement. - Communicate staffing, stock, customer feedback, and operational insights to the Operations Manager. - Ensure all retail administration is completed accurately and on time. - Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards. What We're Looking For Essential - Previous experience managing a retail store or multi-brand retail environment. - Proven ability to drive sales performance and achieve targets. - Experience managing wedding, occasionwear, tailoring, or premium customer appointments. - Strong leadership and people-management skills. - Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities. - Strong organisational and planning skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver exceptional attention to detail. - Strong communication and problem-solving skills. - Passion for premium products, craftsmanship, and customer experience.
