Job Title: Retail Operations and Quality Auditor Company: 1004 Gourmet Location: Dubai, UAE Job Type: Full-Time About the Role 1004 Gourmet is seeking a detail-oriented Retail Operations and Quality Auditor to perform systematic store audits across all our retail branches in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for upholding brand standards across product quality, visual merchandising, HACCP food safety, inventory accuracy, and overall operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Product Quality, Display & Merchandising Conduct scheduled and unannounced audit visits across all retail branches. Inspect product freshness, monitor shelf-life and expiry dates (FEFO/FIFO protocols), and oversee damaged stock removal. Audit visual merchandising standards, planogram compliance, shelf pricing accuracy, and promotional campaign execution. Inspect display units (chillers, freezers, dry displays) for proper operating temperatures, hygiene, and maintenance. Inventory, Cash & Loss Prevention Perform random spot-checks and cycle counts on high-value, fast-moving, or high-shrinkage items on the shop floor and in backroom storage. Audit wastage, shrinkage, damage write-offs, and store return logs to identify operational gaps or theft risks. Conduct random register/till spot-checks and petty cash audits to ensure checkout financial accuracy. Health, Safety, Food Compliance & HACCP Audit and enforce HACCP guidelines, temperature logbooks, sanitation protocols, and pest control compliance across all retail and food handling zones. Ensure full store compliance with local Dubai Municipality food safety regulations and internal SOPs. Enforce team adherence to personal hygiene, grooming, uniform standards, and safe food-handling procedures. Identify shop-floor hygiene and safety training gaps and report development needs to Store Managers and HR. Customer Experience & Store Environment Evaluate overall store atmosphere, including cleanliness, lighting, background music levels, entrance presentation, and aisle navigation. Observe staff customer service delivery, greeting etiquette, checkout efficiency, and product knowledge on the shop floor. Reporting & Cross-Functional Follow-Up Generate detailed branch audit scorecards for the Retail Manager and Operations Manager highlighting compliance rates, HACCP discrepancies, and operational risks. Co-develop actionable corrective plans with Store Managers and perform follow-up visits to verify full compliance. Qualifications & Requirements Certification: HACCP Certification is required (Level 3 or Level 4 Food Safety qualification). Experience: 2–4 years of experience in retail auditing, quality assurance, food safety compliance, or loss prevention within food retail, FMCG, or specialty grocery. Mobility: Valid UAE Driving License and personal vehicle are mandatory for daily multi-site branch travel. Skills: High attention to detail, objective reporting capabilities, and the confidence to hold store teams and managers accountable to company standards.
