About the Role This role is critical to ensuring fleet safety and reliability during the transition to fully driverless operations — without an onboard safety engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical support, dispatch, or operations, strong decision-making skills, and high attention to detail. This person will also have a basic understanding of autonomous vehicle systems or a strong willingness to learn. Available Shifts: Expected Pay Amount: $25.00 USD Per Hour Available Shifts: - AM shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm, Tuesday-Saturday - AM shift: 6:00am - 3:00pm, Saturday-Wednesday - PM shift: 2:30pm - 11:30pm, Wednesday-Sunday - PM shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am, Friday-Tuesday What You'll Do - Actively monitor an assigned vehicle using the Remote Command (RC) interface and multiple camera feeds. - Proactively intervene when necessary using system tools. - Log all interventions and key observations in real time (Notion/Google Sheets). - Conduct post-trip reviews and flag any anomalies. - Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions and contribute to the edge-case knowledge base. - Track and report operational metrics. - Ensure a clean shift handoff by communicating key context to the incoming Shift Lead. What You'll Need - 1+ year of experience in a live operations environment, such as autonomous vehicle fleet operations, teleoperations, dispatch, systems monitoring, or a similar real-time role - Experience troubleshooting technical issues and documenting escalations - Comfortable monitoring live camera feeds or system data to identify and respond to issues in real time - Experience using Jira, YouTrack, or similar ticketing systems - Basic understanding of U.S. traffic laws and right-of-way rules - Clean driving record - Strong written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail Nice to Have - Hands-on experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or transportation technology - Familiarity with AV data annotation, triage, or AI training workflows - Technical background in robotics, automotive/EV systems, avionics, IT/network operations, or military UAV operations - Experience participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or incident post-mortem reviews Where You'll Work: - On-site work from the Remote Operations Center in Austin, TX - Rotating shifts, including weekends - Availability for both morning and evening shifts required (schedule flexibility preferred) Benefits: - Pre-tax commuter benefits - Employer Subsidized Healthcare Benefits thru our 3rd party employer of record partner - Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs - Short and long-term disability and life insurance thru our 3rd party employer of record partner - 401k package Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed through our trusted Employer of Record partner, who manages payroll, benefits, and local compliance on our behalf.
