Recycling Operations Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES the Recycling Community Operations Officer will… Door step visit and engage with the Residents of Cheshire West and apply Waste Strategy Targets. Be able to drive and operate a dedicated cleansing vehicle with dedicated specialised equipment. To keep identified problematic areas clean and clear, ensuring residents are complying with waste collection policy. Using issued equipment to keep areas clean in accordance with training and best practice. Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and prioritise team targets and objectives with minimal supervision. To work independently. To deal with local residents and partner complaints on a dynamic basis as well working toward long term solutions. Develop Behaviour Change Delivery in Recycling, by changing behaviours of the Community and Partners, by promoting recycling best practice. Team Support, working with the wider Waste management team to achieve strategic goals. The postholder will collate and provide quality data required in order to improve materials being presented by residents investigations. Identify best practice and share learning. Undertake regular Training and Development. Ability to work prolonged periods outdoors in unfavourable weather. Support the Community Recycling Project Coordinator, Recycling Advisors and Waste Resolution officers. Show innovative thinking and problem solving skills. Using initiative and application. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The postholder will operate in a proactive and frontline based role, with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The postholder is expected to demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery. This role requires you to undertake other duties, commensurate with the grade, as may reasonably be required and in line with organisational development and change. The Cheshire West and Chester Waste Management Team is responsible for providing waste and recycling services across the borough. They operate under the Cheshire West and Chester Council and have been established to ensure safe, responsible, and innovative waste management practices. The Recycling Community Operations Officer will work within the waste and recycling team, carrying out mobile community engagement, ad hoc cleansing and delivery of improving waste collection across complex property types, working with the local community and being primarily based in the local community across Cheshire West. The role is a mobile one focussing on identified areas where was and recycling rates are problematic. Working in close partnership with its waste collection operator, Cheshire West Recycling Ltd (CWR) to deliver behaviour change and supporting infrastructure improvement projects.
