The role will focus on developing innovative, consistent, cost-effective, and scalable products while maintaining food safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities1. Product Development - Develop new food products, recipes, sauces, marinades, fillings, snacks, beverages, and other QSR products. - Conduct kitchen trials and prepare prototypes based on product briefs. - Modify existing recipes to improve taste, texture, yield, cost, and consistency. - Conduct sensory evaluation and incorporate feedback into product development. 2. Recipe Standardization - Prepare and maintain standardized recipes and product specifications. - Define ingredient quantities, preparation methods, cooking parameters, yields, and portion sizes. - Develop SOPs for preparation, cooking, storage, handling, and serving. - Ensure products can be consistently replicated across QSR outlets. 3. Costing & Commercialization - Calculate recipe and product costs. - Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising product quality. - Work with Procurement to evaluate alternative ingredients and suppliers. - Support product scale-up from laboratory/kitchen trials to commercial production. 4. Quality & Food Safety - Ensure new products comply with applicable food safety and quality requirements. - Work closely with the Quality/QA team on product specifications and testing. - Support shelf-life studies and stability evaluations. - Identify and resolve product quality issues during trials and commercialization. 5. Cross-Functional Coordination - Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Quality, Production, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams. - Conduct trials at stores or central kitchens when required. - Train operations teams on new product preparation and handling procedures. - Collect feedback from stores and customers and recommend improvements. 6. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain R&D trial records, recipes, specifications, costing sheets, and trial reports. - Prepare product development reports and presentation materials. - Maintain records of approved and discontinued products. - Track project timelines from concept to launch. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field . - 1–4 years of relevant experience in QSR, food manufacturing, product development, central kitchen, or FMCG food R&D . - Good knowledge of food ingredients, processing, cooking methods, and food safety. - Basic understanding of food costing and recipe standardization. - Good sensory evaluation and problem-solving skills.
