This is an excellent opportunity to join an established passive fire protection contractor working across a range of projects and long-term contracts, including fire door, compartmentation and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) remedial works. The Role The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for the pricing, management and financial performance of passive fire protection works from initial enquiry and tender through to completion and final account. A key part of the role will involve interpreting surveys, schedules, specifications and client requirements to accurately price works across our core service areas. Key Responsibilities Pricing and tendering compartmentation and firestopping works , including penetration sealing, linear joints, cavity barriers and associated remedial works. Pricing fire door installation, replacement, repair and maintenance works . Pricing and commercially managing FRA remedial works arising from Fire Risk Assessments and other compliance surveys. Pricing compartmentation surveys and inspections , including associated reporting requirements. Pricing fire door surveys and inspections , including both one-off surveys and planned inspection programmes. Reviewing drawings, specifications, survey reports and schedules of works to establish project requirements. Producing detailed quotations, tenders and cost plans. Undertaking take-offs and preparing schedules of rates. Identifying variations, additional works and commercial opportunities throughout the life of a project. Preparing and submitting interim valuations and applications for payment. Monitoring project costs, labour, materials and subcontract expenditure against budget. Producing cost-to-complete forecasts and reporting on project profitability. Managing variations and agreeing final accounts with clients and main contractors. Working closely with our Contracts, Operations and Surveying teams to ensure projects are commercially controlled. Liaising directly with clients, consultants and contractors regarding commercial and contractual matters. Supporting the continued development of our pricing structure and commercial processes. About You We are looking for someone who is commercially strong, organised and comfortable taking ownership of projects. Ideally, you will have: Previous Quantity Surveying or estimating experience within passive fire protection, firestopping, fire doors or a related construction sector . A good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and schedules. Experience preparing quotations, tenders, valuations and variations. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general commercial reporting. The ability to manage multiple quotations and live projects simultaneously. Strong communication and negotiation skills. A commercially focused approach with excellent attention to detail. Experience specifically within passive fire protection is highly desirable , although we would also consider an experienced construction Quantity Surveyor with the right commercial background and willingness to develop their technical knowledge within the sector.
