Quantity Surveyor
Position Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Kuwait Company: Loloah Alshaya General Trading & Contracting Company Department: Commercial / Quantity Surveying Reporting To: Project Manager / Commercial Manager Position Overview Loloah Alshaya General Trading & Contracting Company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction and contracting projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, cost control, valuations, variations, subcontractor payments, project measurements, and commercial documentation. The candidate should have strong knowledge of construction contracts, BOQs, drawings, and project cost management. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications. Review and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and project cost reports. Measure completed works and prepare monthly progress valuations. Prepare and submit interim payment applications to clients and consultants. Review and certify subcontractor and supplier payment applications. Identify, measure, price, and document variations and additional works. Maintain proper records and supporting documentation for variations and claims. Monitor actual project costs against approved budgets. Track material, manpower, subcontractor, and other project-related costs. Assist in preparing quotations and pricing for additional works. Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. Coordinate with project engineers and site teams to verify actual quantities executed. Conduct site measurements and maintain accurate measurement records. Prepare quantity comparisons between tender, approved, executed, and billed quantities. Assist procurement teams with quantity verification and commercial comparisons. Maintain updated variation, payment, and commercial tracking logs. Support the preparation of claims, final accounts, and project close-out documentation. Identify potential commercial risks and immediately report cost overruns or discrepancies to management. Coordinate professionally with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial matters. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management , or a related field. Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in quantity surveying within the construction or contracting industry. Strong experience in quantity take-offs, BOQs, valuations, variations, and cost control. Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong knowledge of measurement and quantity surveying practices. Experience preparing and evaluating subcontractor payments and client invoices. Ability to prepare detailed variation and claim documentation. Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with AutoCAD and quantity take-off software is preferred. Knowledge of ERP, estimation, or cost-control software is an advantage. Good written and verbal communication skills. Experience working on projects in Kuwait is strongly preferred. Active Kuwait Engineering Society membership is required for candidates applying with an engineering qualification. Job Category Engineering & Construction Job Sub-Category Quantity Surveying / Cost Control Interview Process All applicants will go through the following three-stage interview process: HR Round – Verification of qualifications, minimum 5 years of experience, employment history, residency status, and general suitability. Technical Round – Practical assessment covering quantity take-offs, BOQs, drawings, variations, valuations, cost control, Excel, and commercial documentation. Managerial Round – Final assessment of commercial awareness, accuracy, communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to independently handle quantity surveying responsibilities. Pay: KD450.000 - KD550.000 per month Work Location: In person
