Quality Control Lead
About Us
Digital Reality Corp (DRC) is a technology-first digital building measurement and spatial intelligence business, combining specialist surveying expertise with proprietary software, advanced 3D capture technology, computer vision and machine learning.
At the foundation of our business is the accurate capture and measurement of the built environment. Through Stak , our teams digitally survey buildings at scale and transform real-world spaces into trusted, verified digital information. Our core services include 3D laser scanning and point-cloud capture, verified building and area measurement reports, floor plans, scan-to-CAD, scan-to-BIM/Revit, 360° imagery and digital building records. These outputs support property owners, operators and professionals across real estate, construction, facilities management and asset management.
What differentiates DRC is the technology and intelligence we build around this core surveying capability. Our proprietary platforms, automated processing workflows, computer vision and machine-learning technology enable us to capture, process and structure building information consistently at scale, improving speed, quality and the value that can be extracted from spatial data.
Through Spatial-IQ , we extend this capability beyond individual building deliverables, helping large property owners and operators create, manage and utilise structured spatial data across entire portfolios. Spatial-IQ brings together verified building information, spatial context and portfolio-level intelligence, enabling organisations to better understand, analyse and manage their physical estates.
We have digitised more than 180,000 buildings and over 390 million sq ft of real estate. Our global network of certified Digital Surveyors, supported by proprietary AI-driven workflows and centralised production capabilities, enables us to deliver consistent, scalable and insurance-backed outcomes across multiple markets.
At DRC, our core surveying expertise provides the trusted data foundation, while our technology, automation and spatial intelligence capabilities turn that information into connected, actionable insight for the built world.
About the Role
This is a critical, experienced UK-based quality assurance role, responsible for the independent final review and sign-off of Stak Verified and Spatial IQ deliverables for UK-based contracts. The postholder will safeguard technical accuracy, completeness, measurement compliance and client-specific delivery requirements before release.
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the postholder will exercise sound technical judgement and take accountability for final QC approval. They will work closely with UK Operations, Project Management, Digital Producers and technical specialists, while maintaining independence from production.
This role must actively challenge the status quo rather than accept existing day-to-day practices as fixed. The successful candidate will question why errors persist, find practical solutions and take ownership of measurable improvements in QC performance, team capability and productivity. Success will be assessed against agreed KPIs, including sustained reductions in avoidable QC notes and rework, stronger first-time pass rates, and demonstrable upskilling across the production team.
Responsibilities
Quality Control & Final Review
- Own detailed, independent QC reviews and final technical sign-off for UK contract Stak Verified and Spatial IQ deliverables prior to release.
- Validate outputs against registered point cloud data, imagery and supporting project information.
- Check the accuracy and completeness of floor plans, spatial information, measurements and associated deliverables.
- Verify compliance with DRC standards, applicable measurement conventions, client-specific requirements, contractual scope and security-sensitive delivery procedures.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, omissions or areas requiring further investigation.
- Withhold approval where required deliverables, supporting evidence or technical standards are incomplete; confirm all corrections before final sign-off.
- Maintain independence between production and final QC to provide a robust final quality gate.
Measurement & Spatial Accuracy
- Review building measurements and spatial interpretation against available source data.
- Apply and verify the relevant RICS measurement guidance and International Property Measurement Standards (IPMS), ensuring measurements, inclusions, exclusions and area reporting are accurate and consistently interpreted.
- Identify areas where building geometry, boundaries, areas or spatial information require further investigation.
- Maintain expert working knowledge of RICS and IPMS guidance, DRC measurement procedures and their application across different property types.
- Escalate complex measurement queries where further technical guidance is required.
QC Feedback & Resolution
- Provide Digital Producers with clear, specific and actionable QC comments.
- Ensure QC feedback identifies both the issue and the required correction wherever possible.
- Review corrected deliverables and confirm that identified issues have been appropriately resolved.
- Work collaboratively with Digital Producers while maintaining clear accountability for quality standards.
- Escalate material defects and delivery risks promptly to the Head of Operations, with clear recommended corrective actions.
- Support the team in understanding quality expectations rather than simply correcting individual errors.
Quality Performance & Reporting
- Maintain auditable QC records and sign-off decisions for UK projects, providing clear visibility of quality performance across production teams.
- Monitor QC comments, error rates and recurring quality issues.
- Analyse trends by error category, individual, project, workflow stage and production team; distinguish isolated defects from systemic issues.
- Own and report against agreed, regularly reviewed quality-improvement KPIs, including QC notes per deliverable, repeat-error frequency, first-time QC pass rate, rework time, corrective-action closure and training effectiveness.
- Use quality, rework, turnaround and productivity data to prioritise improvement opportunities and measure the impact of changes.
- Lead structured root-cause investigations into recurring or high-impact QC notes; challenge established methods, identify the underlying causes and implement preventive actions with named owners and measurable outcomes.
- Report regularly to the Head of Operations on QC pass/fail performance, recurring defects, root causes, corrective-action owners and evidence of improvement.
- Support the identification of systemic issues across capture, registration or production where these are affecting final deliverable quality.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Translate QC trends into targeted coaching and upskilling plans for Digital Producers, and measure whether training reduces repeat mistakes and improves first-time quality.
- Participate in production and measurement training sessions.
- Partner with the Head of Operations to implement stronger QC gates, checklists, production standards and documented corrective-action follow-up.
- Support the creation and maintenance of documented quality standards.
- Share examples and learnings with the production team to prevent recurring errors.
- Continuously challenge existing workflows, standards and assumptions; proactively propose, trial and embed solutions that improve process, individual skills, productivity and deliverable quality rather than simply maintaining business as usual.
- Seek practical automation, AI-assisted QC and efficiency opportunities; collaborate with Operations and Tech to pilot solutions, evaluate their impact against agreed KPIs and scale improvements without compromising technical accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of production standards, tools and processes as they evolve.
Collaboration
- Work directly with the Head of Operations, UK Project Management and production teams to secure reliable, compliant delivery on UK-based contracts.
- Collaborate with Digital Survey, Registration, Project Management and wider Operations teams where source data or project requirements require clarification.
- Proactively raise concerns where the quality of incoming data may compromise production accuracy.
- Participate in project reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
- Promote a culture where quality is owned throughout the production lifecycle, rather than relying solely on final QC.
