Key Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Design Leadership & Technical Supervision Supervise and manage the daily activities of the PV Design Team, ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on schedule. Review, approve, and provide technical guidance on engineering deliverables, including Solar PV system sizing, electrical calculations, Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, string configurations, and engineering reports. Lead the engineering design of Grid-Tied, Net Metering, Zero Export, Hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. Ensure all engineering designs comply with applicable client requirements, engineering best practices, and relevant local and international standards. 2. Project Coordination & Technical Support Coordinate with Business Development, Sales, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams to ensure technical alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Support project bidding activities by reviewing technical proposals, preliminary designs, equipment selections, and cost estimates. Provide engineering support during construction, including technical clarifications, Requests for Information (RFIs), design revisions, value engineering, and material substitution reviews. Assist during testing, commissioning, system energization, and project turnover as required. Coordinate with utilities and regulatory agencies regarding interconnection requirements, Net Metering applications, and other technical submissions. 3. Engineering Design & Quality Control Review and validate PV system sizing, module and inverter selection, DC/AC ratio optimization, MPPT configurations, string sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, protection coordination, grounding, and equipment selection. Oversee PV performance simulations using industry-standard software and validate production estimates and design assumptions. Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Bills of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and engineering documentation for completeness and constructability. Establish and enforce engineering quality assurance procedures, design standards, templates, and document control processes. Conduct technical design reviews and ensure all engineering deliverables meet company quality standards before issuance. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Licensed Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) in the Philippines is strongly preferred . 2. Experience Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Solar PV design engineering, including commercial, industrial, or utility-scale projects. Minimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring engineering teams or managing technical project deliverables. Demonstrated experience in Grid-Tied, Net Metering, Zero Export, Hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Experience supporting projects through design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. 3. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of Solar PV system sizing, PV simulation, electrical engineering calculations, equipment selection, and engineering documentation. Solid understanding of utility interconnection requirements, distribution utility coordination, and renewable energy engineering practices. Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments. 4. Soft Skills Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective planning, organization, and time management. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to lead multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional coordination skills. Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
