The ideal candidate will provide psychological assessment, evidence-based interventions, and ongoing support to individuals experiencing a range of emotional, psychological, and behavioural difficulties. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with patients and other healthcare professionals to support their psychological wellbeing and overall recovery. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to understand patients' emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs. Develop and deliver individualised treatment and support plans based on patients' needs and clinical presentation. Provide evidence-based psychological interventions and therapeutic support. Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans where appropriate. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation and patient records . Provide patients with appropriate psychoeducation, coping strategies, and self-management techniques . Identify and appropriately manage safeguarding and clinical risk concerns. Collaborate with GPs, physiotherapists, consultants, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals where appropriate. Make appropriate referrals to specialist services when required. Maintain high standards of professionalism, patient confidentiality, safeguarding, and ethical practice . Participate in CPD activities and maintain relevant professional registration and competencies. Essential Qualifications & Skills Relevant degree in Psychology . Relevant postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology, or a related field . HCPC registration if practising under a protected practitioner psychologist title, such as Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist. Appropriate professional registration/accreditation for the role. Previous experience providing psychological assessment, therapy, or clinical support . Strong knowledge of psychological assessment methods and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient engagement skills. Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ethical, evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development. Desirable Experience & Qualifications BPS membership or Chartered Psychologist status , where applicable. Experience working in private practice, NHS, community healthcare, rehabilitation, or multidisciplinary clinical settings . Experience working with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, adjustment difficulties, or other common psychological concerns. Experience supporting patients with chronic pain, physical health conditions, injury, or rehabilitation needs . Additional training or qualifications in CBT, counselling, mindfulness, trauma-informed practice, or other recognised therapeutic approaches . Experience working collaboratively with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals. Valid DBS check and appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
