JOB DESCRIPTION – SITE ENGINEER (FIT-OUT) Position: Site Engineer – Interior Fit-Out Department: Projects / Operations Reports To: Project Manager / General Manager Location: UAE Employment Type: Full-Time Job Purpose The Site Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day execution, supervision, coordination, and technical control of interior fit-out works on site. The role ensures that works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and safety requirements. The Site Engineer will coordinate company manpower, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other trades to maintain productivity and ensure timely completion of the project. Key ResponsibilitiesSite Execution & Supervision Manage and supervise daily fit-out activities on site. Ensure works are executed according to approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements. Supervise works including gypsum ceilings and partitions, flooring and tiling, painting, joinery, glass works, MEP coordination, and other interior finishing activities. Plan daily and weekly activities based on the project programme and available work fronts. Allocate manpower according to site priorities and required productivity. Monitor workmanship and immediately rectify defective or non-compliant works. Carry out measurements and verify actual quantities executed on site. Ensure materials and tools required for upcoming activities are identified and requested in advance. Coordination Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades. Coordinate architectural and fit-out works with MEP services to avoid clashes and rework. Attend site meetings, inspections, and coordination meetings when required. Identify site constraints, missing information, drawing discrepancies, and access/clearance issues. Raise technical queries and immediately report issues that may affect programme, cost, or quality. Coordinate required inspections with consultants and relevant parties before closing works. Planning & Progress Monitoring Monitor actual site progress against the approved programme. Prepare daily and weekly progress updates. Maintain records of manpower, completed quantities, delays, and site activities. Identify potential delays at an early stage and propose corrective actions. Ensure sufficient work fronts are prepared for company manpower and subcontractors. Follow up material approvals, procurement, deliveries, and site requirements to prevent delays. Coordinate and manage overtime or acceleration works when instructed and approved. Quality Control Inspect works before requesting consultant/client inspections. Ensure installation complies with approved materials, drawings, specifications, and acceptable industry standards. Maintain inspection and quality records where required. Follow up consultant comments, snagging items, NCRs, and observations until closure. Ensure completed works are properly protected from damage by subsequent trades. Minimize rework, material wastage, and unnecessary labour costs. Commercial & Variation Control Identify works requested on site that are outside the company's contractual scope. Do not proceed with additional or variation works without reporting them to the Project Manager/management and obtaining the required authorization, except where specifically instructed. Maintain records, measurements, photographs, and supporting documentation for variation works. Record delays or disruptions caused by other contractors, unavailable work fronts, late approvals, design changes, or client/consultant instructions. Assist the Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager with site measurements and verification of completed quantities for progress claims. Health & Safety Ensure site activities comply with company HSE procedures and project safety requirements. Ensure workers use the required PPE and follow approved safe working procedures. Coordinate with the Safety Officer and site management regarding unsafe conditions. Stop and report activities presenting an immediate safety risk. Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas are kept organized and safe. Documentation & Reporting The Site Engineer shall maintain appropriate records including: Daily site reports Manpower records Progress photographs Material requirements Inspection requests Site instructions Drawing revisions Variation records Measurement sheets Delay and obstruction records Snagging and rectification status Subcontractor progress Completed work quantities All significant verbal instructions received on site should be documented and reported to the Project Manager. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction, or a related field. Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in interior fit-out works , preferably within the UAE. Good knowledge of interior finishing and fit-out construction methods. Ability to read and understand architectural, shop, reflected ceiling, and MEP drawings. Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Experience with site measurements and quantity verification. UAE driving licence is preferred. Knowledge of UAE construction practices and authority requirements is an advantage. Required Skills Strong site supervision and coordination skills. Ability to manage workers and subcontractors effectively. Good technical understanding of fit-out works. Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability. Ability to work under programme and deadline pressure. Good communication and reporting skills. Attention to detail and quality. Commercial awareness, particularly regarding variations and out-of-scope works. Ability to plan manpower, materials, and site activities efficiently. Professional communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be assessed based on: Achievement of project programme and milestones. Productivity of assigned manpower. Quality of completed works. Number and severity of defects/rework. Material wastage and cost control. Timely identification of variations and additional works. Accuracy and completeness of site documentation. Timely reporting of delays and site constraints. Closure of snagging and consultant comments. Compliance with health and safety requirements. Overall organization and management of assigned sites. General Responsibility The Site Engineer is expected to take ownership of the assigned site and proactively manage technical, operational, quality, and coordination matters. Any issue that may result in delay, additional cost, rework, loss of productivity, or contractual exposure must be immediately reported to the Project Manager or management. The Site Engineer shall not commit the company to additional costs, variations, programme changes, or contractual obligations without authorization from management. Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED5,500.00 per month Work Location: In person
