Job Overview

SsangYong E&C is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Project Manager to lead and manage earthworks, deep excavation, piling, shoring, and dewatering operations for a high-rise construction projects in Dubai.

The successful candidate must have proven experience independently managing these specialized construction activities, with full responsibility for site execution, construction planning, subcontractor performance, productivity, quality, HSE, costs, and timely delivery.

Experience in BOTH major earthworks/deep excavation AND piling works is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Earthworks & Deep Excavation

• Plan, manage, and execute bulk earthworks and deep excavation operations.
• Supervise excavation, soil hauling and disposal, backfilling, grading, and compaction.
• Develop excavation sequences, equipment deployment plans, manpower allocation, and site logistics.
• Monitor excavation quantities, equipment productivity, progress, and costs.
• Coordinate surveying, setting-out, levels, and excavation milestones with the relevant site teams.

1. Piling & Foundation Works

• Manage bored piling operations, including drilling, reinforcement cage installation, and concrete casting.
• Supervise piling subcontractors, piling rigs, equipment mobilization, and site operations.
• Coordinate pile integrity testing (PIT), pile dynamic testing (PDA), and static load testing, as specified.
• Review piling shop drawings, method statements, inspection requests, and quality documentation.
• Monitor piling productivity, technical compliance, and construction progress.
• Coordinate pile head trimming, cut-off levels, and handover for pile caps and subsequent foundation works.

1. Shoring & Dewatering

• Manage shoring systems, excavation support, and temporary works in coordination with the relevant designers and technical teams.
• Oversee dewatering operations and groundwater control throughout excavation.
• Monitor excavation stability and coordinate the implementation of approved temporary works and groundwater management measures.
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements, project specifications, HSE requirements, and applicable UAE authority requirements.

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of earthworks, excavation, shoring, dewatering, and piling activities.
• Prepare and monitor construction schedules, work sequences, resource plans, and productivity targets.
• Manage subcontractor performance, construction equipment, manpower, and material resources.
• Track actual progress against planned milestones and implement corrective measures where required.
• Monitor project costs, quantities, variations, and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with the Project Director, consultants, geotechnical engineers, surveyors, technical teams, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational, and logistical issues affecting project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Maintain accurate progress reports, site records, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant construction experience , including at least 5 years of UAE experience .
• Proven project management experience in major earthworks, deep excavation, and piling operations.
• Mandatory hands-on experience in BOTH earthworks/deep excavation AND piling works.
• Demonstrated experience managing foundation packages for high-rise residential or commercial buildings.
• Strong technical knowledge of bored piling, pile testing, shoring systems, dewatering, excavation support, and foundation preparation.
• Proven ability to manage specialist subcontractors, heavy equipment, manpower, budgets, and construction schedules.
• Experience with reputable UAE main contractors or specialist earthworks and piling contractors is preferred.
• Strong leadership, planning, coordination, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills.

Mandatory Experience – Please Read Carefully

Candidates must demonstrate substantial practical experience in both Earthworks/Deep Excavation and Piling Works , preferably within high-rise building construction projects.

Candidates with experience limited to general building construction, superstructure, finishing works, or piling alone without substantial earthworks and excavation experience will not be considered suitable.
