Our architecture unifies the product lifecycle, from actuarial requirements through configuration and automated certification, so carriers can launch, convert and innovate quickly. We are a small, fast-growing team, and every implementation we deliver shapes how carriers see us. This role sits at the center of that. The role We're hiring a hands-on Project Manager to lead carrier implementations of the Penn River platform and take our delivery methodology to the next level. You'll run projects day to day, work directly with customers, and keep internal and client teams aligned. As we win new deals, you'll onboard and direct additional project managers, growing into the leader of our delivery practice. Reports to: COO Location: Will support remote for the right resource. Living in the Philadelphia area a plus. Type: Full-time What you'll do - Lead end-to-end delivery of carrier implementations, from kickoff and requirements through configuration, testing, data conversion and go-live. - Run Agile delivery: sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives. - Own project tracking in Jira and Confluence, keeping boards, roadmaps, risks and documentation accurate and current. - Serve as the primary day-to-day project contact for carrier clients, building trusted relationships and managing expectations. - Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues and change requests, escalating early and clearly. - Coordinate across product, engineering, actuarial, QA and partner teams. - Report status to client and internal executives with clear, concise updates. - Strengthen the Penn River delivery methodology: templates, playbooks, metrics and lessons learned from each project. - Roll up your sleeves where needed, from writing user stories to facilitating workshops and supporting testing. - As we grow, recruit, onboard, mentor and direct new project managers. What you bring - 5+ years of project management experience delivering software implementations or enterprise technology projects. - Extensive working knowledge of Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban or hybrid) in client-facing delivery. - Deep, hands-on experience with Atlassian tools, especially Jira, and ideally Confluence. - Excellent attention to detail: nothing slips through the cracks. - Excellent written and verbal communication, from engineers to client executives. - Outstanding customer skills: you build trust, handle difficult conversations well and keep clients confident. - A true team player who is comfortable being hands-on in a small company. - Experience improving or building a delivery methodology, not just following one. - Readiness to lead others, with experience mentoring or directing project managers or team leads a plus. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Nice to have Industry knowledge is a real plus, but the attributes above matter even more. We'll gladly teach the domain to the right person. - Experience in life and annuity insurance, at a carrier, TPA or software vendor. - Familiarity with policy administration systems, new business, underwriting or data conversion projects. - Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe. - Experience in a startup or high-growth software company.
