Project Manager - Academic Construction
Job Description Key Responsibilities Lead project planning and scheduling, including detailed baseline schedules Collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Executive to maintain progress and resolve issues Manage all project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and permitting Oversee procurement, buyouts, and negotiation of subcontracts and purchase orders Coordinate and implement approved change orders and ensure scope alignment Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and consultants Prepare and manage budgets, cost reports, and monthly projections Ensure field construction aligns with quality control and safety standards Supervise and mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Superintendents Lead project meetings and maintain clear, consistent documentation and communication Oversee project closeout including punchlists, manuals, final inspections, and financial wrap-up Support business development through client relationship management and industry networking Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field – or equivalent experience Minimum 6-10 years of project management experience, with a strong preference for academic construction Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in project management tools and software, including Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, Excel Deep understanding of construction drawings, contracts, schedules, and budget tracking Ability to physically navigate active construction sites Ability to lead and coach teams in a collaborative and respectful work environment Experience with business development, networking, and professional industry engagement Company Description At Erland Construction, our leadership values are more than words, they are the foundation of how we work, lead, and grow together. At Erland, you’re not just building structures, you’re building trust, purpose, and community. Salary Range The anticipated base salary for the Project Manager role is $120,000 - $165,000. Please note that base pay is only one part of Erland’s total compensation package. Your actual salary will be determined by your unique skills, experience, education, and specific qualifications.
