Project Assistant
En2Action is hiring a part-time Project Assistant to support our Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-funded small business technical assistance program on the 3rd Street commercial corridors. At the center of this role are strong organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and real comfort with documentation. This person builds relationships with neighborhood businesses, builds the tools we use to track them, and keeps our program data current.
What You'll Do
- Conduct direct outreach to 3rd Street commercial corridor businesses that are opening or improving a storefront, building the relationships that bring them into En2Action's technical assistance program
- Develop and administer a business needs-assessment tool to intake new clients, determine which track fits their stage, and document their technical assistance needs
- Keep records current in Small Business Central, the City's required small business tracking system, for every client business
- Build and maintain a small business data repository — tracking outreach, assessments, and outcomes; vendor and referral-partner records for the Small Business Referral Network (accounting, legal, HR, marketing, grant writing, lending, and permitting); and the material needed to tell each business's story and showcase En2Action's impact in the community
- Coordinate logistics for the program's 12 workshops this fiscal year — scheduling, venue coordination, and attendance tracking
- Help track the program's progress toward serving 35 businesses over the grant year
What You Bring
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing detailed records across many business relationships at once
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, program administration, or small business support
- Meticulous attention to detail and comfort with documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ease building trust with small business owners
- Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, Drive); quick to learn new systems and databases
- Trustworthy and discreet, comfortable working closely with organizational leadership
- Passion for Bayview-Hunters Point community development or small business support is a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, or Samoan) a plus, given the neighborhood's language needs
