Project and Estimation Engineer (Civil and Joinery)

Job description

1. Study tender drawings, specifications and scope documents, and prepare quantity take-offs and bills of quantities
2. Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil, gypsum, flooring, painting, joinery, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works
3. Collect and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and maintain an updated rate database
4. Prepare quotations as per scope, including scope inclusions, exclusions and clarification lists for clients
5. Review variations and prepare costed variation claims
6. Plan and execute projects: programme, material schedule, manpower plan and coordination with the site team
7. Prepare progress reports, handover documents and snag lists, and close out defects

8.Verify subcontractor measurements and claims before payment

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
2. 3 to 4 years of experience in interior fitout, with at least 2 years in estimation or quantity surveying
3. Strong knowledge of quantity take-off for gypsum, painting, flooring, tiling, joinery and basic mechanical, electrical and plumbing works
4. Able to read architectural, structural, joinery and services drawings
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD; experience with PlanSwift take-off software is an advantage
6. Good written and spoken English for quotations and client correspondence; Arabic, Malayalam or Tamil is an advantage
7. Knowledge of United Arab Emirates fitout regulations, developer approvals and site access procedures
8. Organised, accurate and comfortable working under tender deadlines

Mandatory

1. Good communication skills in English and Hindi
2. Software: AutoCAD and PlanSwift
3. Valid United Arab Emirates driving licence

Location: Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (project sites across Sharjah and Dubai)

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED5,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sharjah
