Program Operations Manager, Retail Electricity

What to Expect Tesla Electric is expanding its retail electricity business in the US, starting with Illinois. This Program Operations Manager will own the day-to-day operational and compliance functions of Tesla's alternative retail electricity supplier (ARES) and ongoing market participation in Illinois (PJM territory), with scope to expand into additional deregulated markets over time. This role is the market-facing operational owner for Illinois — managing regulatory compliance obligations, coordinating filing workflows with external counsel, interfacing with state regulators, the incumbent utility, and relevant program administrators, and building the internal processes that allow Tesla Electric to serve Illinois customers reliably and in good standing. This position reports to the Technical Program Manager overseeing Tesla Electric's retail operations and works cross-functionally with legal, product, customer support, and finance. A successful candidate understands how retail electric suppliers operate inside Illinois regulatory structures, is energized by the operational complexity of a new market entry, and can build durable processes in an environment where much is still being defined.
