Waddington and Co. (1947) Ltd has a long and proud history of collecting & processing Category 1 & 2 Animal by-products and fallen stock. Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire we aim to recycle animal by products into energy and biofuels through our products of Tallow and Meat and Bonemeal. We are looking for a Production Operatives to join our team at Bradford working in a busy factory on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate must be a team player with excellent attendance records. The shift pattern for this role is on 4 on 4 off, 6-6 am/pm working both days and nights. Postcode: BD3 9LP. Rewards - Salary: £34,419.84 per annum during training, equivalent to £15.76 per hour. Upon successful completion of training, the salary will increase to £36,604 per annum, equivalent to £16.76 per hour. Role is monthly paid. - Holiday Entitlement - 20 days (Pro- rata) - 28 days holiday entitlement - Retention bonus available after qualifying period - Company pension - Company sick pay scheme - Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice - Life Assurance - Cycle to work scheme - Occupational health - 24/7 GP and mental health support, wellbeing and nutrition programmes, second medical opinion, health resources, emotional wellbeing app, smoking cessation support, and bereavement counselling. - JG Pears rewards (retail / restaurants / gym discounts) - Financial education and guidance through external providers - Introduce a friend reward £300 Responsibilities - To ensure a smooth operation of the processing line using the control room computer following rules/ procedures and responding accordingly - Operating machinery - Ensure all relevant paperwork and documentation is completed as required by the shift supervisor, storing this in the correct manner - Complete both weekly and monthly checklists for utilities as required - Attend to site deliveries for material incoming, - Responsible for the loading of the tankers as well as eventually learning how to safely tip waste from incoming lorries - Pre-start up checks and handovers to colleagues - Ensure the production and work areas on site are maintained and in a clean and tidy state including machinery and equipment - Ensure the products are produced to the highest possible standard using the equipment available - To clean and maintain forklift trucks, MEWP’s, Shunter and JCB load once qualified - All training will be taught under HACCP - Any other tasks given at the managers discretion Requirements - Have a sound understanding of Health and Safety regulations - Preference will be given to candidates who have a forklift license, loading shovel and shunter licence, however full training will be given. - English ESOL Entry 3/Level 1 - Team player but also able to work off your own initiative - Excellent attendance records *Due to location own transport is essential.
