Production Lead
Ready to take the next step and grow with a company?
Tread Setters Inc. is hiring a Production Lead to take primary responsibility for our luxury vinyl stair tread manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role with a clear growth path. Start as Production Lead and, for the right person, move into Production Manager within 2–3 years as the business scales.
You’ll work in a shared facility with two sister companies under common ownership. We share equipment, labor, and resources, and cross-company cooperation is part of how we operate. You’ll report to the CEO, who visits the facility roughly every other week, so you need to be able to work independently, self-schedule, and drive results with minimal day-to-day oversight.
What You’ll Do
- Take primary responsibility for the full production process: move LVP materials through heating, operate automated manufacturing equipment, and produce high-quality bullnose and square-nose stair treads
- Set up and run CNC equipment for custom parts; diagnose issues and make mechanical adjustments to keep parts in spec
- Troubleshoot and debug both the automated equipment and CNC machines
- Operate woodworking equipment (power miter boxes, router tables, and related tools) as needed
- Coordinate and supervise additional production labor (about 20 hours per week)
- Develop and document processes to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency
- Bring improvement ideas to the CEO
- Enter data and communicate through Microsoft Office, Teams, and spreadsheets
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for results
- Strong technical skills with automated manufacturing equipment and CNC machines, including troubleshooting
- Excellent communication skills and an even temperament
- High integrity and reliability
- Comfortable with electronic communication and data entry
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work with English- and Spanish-speaking team members (bilingual is helpful but not required)
Preferred
- Woodworking or cabinet-making experience
- Prior lead or supervisory experience
- CNC setup experience
- Familiarity with SPC or LVP materials
