Product Manager – Transmission & Distribution | Middle East

Tractebel is seeking an established Transmission & Distribution leader to lead and grow our T&D business across the Middle East.

This is not simply a technical leadership position. The mandate combines business growth, client leadership, commercial performance, technical authority and portfolio delivery , with responsibility for a regional organisation of approximately 200–250 professionals .

Reporting to the Head of Energy & Infrastructure – Middle East, the Product Manager will shape and execute the regional T&D strategy, strengthen key client relationships, build a sustainable opportunity pipeline and ensure disciplined delivery across our portfolio.

The mandate

You will be accountable for:

• Defining and executing the Middle East T&D strategy and annual business plan.
• Growing the business across utilities, developers, government entities and strategic partners.
• Building senior-level relationships with key clients and strengthening Tractebel’s market positioning.
• Driving opportunity qualification, bid/no-bid decisions, win strategies and major proposals.
• Overseeing T&D portfolio performance across delivery, commercial, technical, resource and project risks.
• Protecting order intake, revenue quality, margins, utilisation and forecast reliability.
• Providing technical leadership across high-voltage substations, overhead lines, underground cables and grid-related services.
• Building organisational capability, leadership succession and critical technical expertise.
• Optimising regional resource deployment across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other Middle East markets.
• Strengthening project governance, technical assurance, standardisation, digitalisation and operational excellence.
• Working across Business Development, Project Management, Engineering, Finance, HR and global technical networks to enable sustainable growth and delivery.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a senior T&D leader who brings:

• A recognised bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Typically 18+ years of progressive experience in power transmission and distribution.
• Proven leadership of a T&D business, product line, portfolio, programme or major multi-project function , beyond responsibility for a single project.
• Strong Middle East T&D market knowledge and credible relationships within the regional utility and infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrable expertise in high-voltage substations and at least one of overhead transmission lines or underground cable systems .
• Strong experience across consultancy, Owner’s Engineer, PMC, design, supervision and/or advisory environments.
• A track record in business development, strategic account growth, proposal leadership and converting opportunities into commercially sound assignments .
• Commercial understanding of pricing, margins, utilisation, forecasting, change control, contractual risk and working-capital drivers.
• Experience building and leading large, multidisciplinary and multicultural organisations.
• Strong executive presence and the ability to engage confidently with senior clients and stakeholders.
• Professional fluency in English. Arabic would be advantageous.
• Experience in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and/or Oman is highly desirable.

Technical leadership

Strong technical credibility is expected across relevant areas including:

High-voltage AC transmission systems | AIS/GIS substations | transformers | protection & control | overhead transmission lines | underground cables | SCADA & telecom | grid studies | testing & commissioning | technical assurance | design governance | IEC/IEEE standards | project controls | engineering digitalisation | HSE and design safety.
