Product Manager - Store Technology

We are hiring a Product Manager to join a leading retail business in Dubai and take charge of the technology their store teams use every day. This is a senior, hands on role for a retail technologist who knows life on the shop floor and wants to make it simpler.

You will be joining a well established retailer with a large store network across several formats and markets. The Retail function is putting real focus on store technology and the daily experience of its people, and this role sits at the centre of that work.

Store teams currently juggle too many devices, too many logins and a patchy mix of vendor tools. Your job is to change that. You will be responsible for every piece of technology store teams touch, from the connectivity and hardware in each store to the apps people open at the start of every shift. Your aim is to make it simpler, more reliable and easier to use.

There is a significant build at the heart of this. The colleague app is being rebuilt on a modern framework, and the business wants the experience rethought from scratch rather than simply moved across. You will also lead a fresh approach to how stores manage inventory.

• Take ownership of store connectivity and hardware, working with infrastructure teams to fix the reliability problems that slow stores down.
• Decide which devices stores really need and cut back the rest.
• Build the roadmap for bringing multiple vendor apps and dashboards together into one colleague application.
• Lead the redesign of the colleague app, partnering closely with design and engineering.
• Modernise inventory management so store teams spend less time on manual work.
• Be the person the business turns to on store technology, with a say in both technical design and what gets built next.
• Spend time in stores and with teams across the business, then turn what you learn into well written requirements that engineers can build from.

• We are looking for someone who understands retail operations first hand and has the technical depth to build what stores need.
• A decade or more in retail, having worked on the shop floor as well as in a central role, with a track record of leading large scale change.
• You have fixed connectivity and hardware problems in stores before and know how much they hold people back.
• A history of simplifying technology, whether that means cutting vendor numbers, merging tools or retiring apps, with results you can point to.
• You have owned a mobile app used by store or frontline staff, and can show past work that proves you value simple design.
• Confidence presenting to senior leadership, both in writing and in the room.
• You get things live. Success here is measured by what reaches stores, so you need to be good at choosing what matters most and keeping teams on track.
• You already use AI day to day, whether that is knocking up a quick prototype, automating your own admin or writing code with an assistant.
• You are at ease pulling insight from a range of data sources and can spot when data is missing, messy or poorly managed.
• You can win people over and get work done even when they don’t report to you.
