Product Development ProjectManager Purpose of the Role: Chelsom designs and delivers decorative lighting for some of the world's leading hotels, cruise ships and commercial interior projects. Our Product Development Project Manager is responsible for ensuring every new product moves efficiently from design concept to successful market launch. This is not a product design role - it is a programme and project management role responsible for coordinating every stage of the New Product Development (NPD) process, ensuring products remain on schedule for development, stakeholders remain aligned and products launch to the highest possible standard. The successful candidate will work closely with our Managing Director, Chief Design Officer and cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Technical, Marketing, Operations and Sales. Key Responsibilities You will be a key member of the Chelsom Management Team and will collaborate with other department heads as part of your day to day role. Programme Management Own and manage the New Product Development programme including: ● Project plans ● Timelines ● Milestones ● Action tracking ● Risk management ● Launch readiness Process Ownership Become the owner of Chelsom's NPD process. Continually improve: ● Efficiency ● Communication ● Accountability ● Consistency ● Visibility ● Reporting ● Support to Design Team ● Execution of design strategy across the entire development process. Project Coordination Coordinate activities across: ● Design ● Purchasing ● Supply chain ● Technical ● Marketing ● Photography ● Website development and management ● Pricing ● Sales ● Samples ● Operations ensuring everyone knows what is required and by when. Product Launch Coordinate all activities required to launch products successfully including: ● Quotations ● Costing ● Supplier coordination ● Samples ● Photography ● Website ● Pricing ● Launch collateral Stakeholder Management Work confidently with: ● Directors ● Designers ● Engineers ● Purchasing ● Factories ● Marketing ● Sales teams ● Customers ● International suppliers bringing people together to solve problems and maintain momentum. Meeting Leadership Organise and facilitate key NPD meetings. ● Prepare agendas ● Record actions ● Ensure actions are completed ● Escalate risks where necessary Reporting Provide regular reporting to senior management on: ● Project status ● Programme risks ● Launch readiness ● Bottlenecks ● Resource requirements Key Skills and Attributes We're looking for someone who is: ● An exceptional organiser ● Project Management Experienced ● Highly structured ● Naturally proactive ● Commercially aware ● Decisive ● Comfortable challenging others constructively ● Calm under pressure ● Highly collaborative ● Detail orientated ● A confident communicator ● Passionate about delivering great products ● Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Co-Pilot ● Project management software experience would be preferred. Experience We are open to different industry backgrounds, however experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous: ● Decorative lighting ● Furniture ● Interior products ● Hospitality products ● Consumer products ● Fashion ● Product development ● Manufacturing Candidates should ideally have experience of taking products from concept through to launch and have excellent project management skills. Formal project management qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months the successful candidate will: ● Become the recognised owner of Chelsom's product development process. ● Deliver improved visibility across all NPD projects. ● Reduce delays and improve accountability. ● Ensure projects move smoothly between departments. ● Improve communication across Design, Purchasing, Technical, Marketing and Operations. ● Deliver consistently successful product launches. ● Free the Managing Director and Chief Design Officer to spend more time on design strategy, customer engagement and future product innovation.
