We are looking for an experienced Product Compliance Manager to join our team and take responsibility for ensuring our products are designed, manufactured, documented and placed on the market in compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and industry requirements. This is a key role within the business, working closely with our Senior Business Systems & Compliance Manager and colleagues across Design, Engineering, Production, Quality and Sales. The Role As Product Compliance Manager, you will oversee product conformity throughout the product lifecycle, from design and development through manufacture and release. A key part of the role will be managing technical files, CE/UKCA marking, product traceability and design governance, while supporting the maintenance of our BS EN 1090 Factory Production Control (FPC) system. You will have the authority to challenge and escalate compliance concerns and to prevent the release of products where conformity cannot be adequately demonstrated. Key Responsibilities - Manage CE and UKCA marking requirements and associated conformity assessment activities. - Maintain product technical files, ensuring supporting documentation is complete, current and readily retrievable. - Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the BS EN 1090 Factory Production Control system. - Manage and administering the Engineering Change Control process. - Ensure appropriate design reviews, calculations, specifications and approvals are completed and documented. - Support the introduction of new products and significant product modifications from a compliance perspective. - Review existing and legacy products to ensure ongoing compliance. - Coordinate product compliance reviews and ensuring appropriate verification and validation is completed before release. - Maintain effective product and material traceability. - Review drawings, material specifications, certificates, test reports, inspection records, risk assessments and other compliance evidence. - Support supplier and subcontractor approval and reviewing relevant compliance documentation. - Support internal audits, management reviews, certification audits and external assessments. - Investigate product compliance concerns and non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions. - Monitor changes to relevant legislation, standards and regulatory requirements. - Provide practical product compliance guidance to colleagues across the business. - Promote awareness and understanding of product conformity requirements throughout the organisation. - Support the development of competence for employees involved in compliance-critical activities. About You We are looking for someone with experience in product compliance, quality management, engineering or regulatory compliance within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Essential Experience & Knowledge You should have: - A good working understanding of BS EN 1090 and Factory Production Control (FPC). - A good working understanding of CE and UKCA marking and associated conformity assessment requirements. - An understanding of product conformity and technical file requirements. - Experience of product and material traceability systems. - An understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. - Experience conducting audits and compliance reviews. - Strong document control and record management skills. - The ability to review technical and compliance documentation and identify where information or evidence is incomplete. - Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach to work. - The confidence to challenge and escalate concerns where product conformity cannot be adequately demonstrated. - The ability to work collaboratively with Design, Engineering, Production, Quality and other operational teams and translate regulatory and standards-based requirements into practical actions. Desirable Experience & Qualifications It would be advantageous if you also have: - An ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification. - Knowledge of ISO 45001 and/or ISO 27001. - Experience within structural steel fabrication, manufacturing or agricultural equipment. - Knowledge of the Construction Products Regulations and associated conformity assessment requirements. - Experience working with welding, fasteners, coatings, galvanising or other outsourced manufacturing processes.
