The role requires strong experience in sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating materials, equipment, subcontractors, and specialist vendors. The selected candidate will ensure timely procurement, cost control, compliance with project specifications, and alignment with construction schedules. The Procurement Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager and work closely with engineering, commercial, logistics, and site teams to support high‑quality and efficient project delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage the full procurement cycle for civil, architectural, MEP, interior fit‑out, and building envelope materials and equipment. Prepare procurement plans aligned with project schedules, construction priorities, and material lead times. Review project specifications, BOQs, drawings, and technical requirements to determine accurate material needs. Source qualified suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors based on quality, compliance, and commercial competitiveness. Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate quotations, conduct technical and commercial comparisons, and recommend best‑fit suppliers. Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and contractual conditions with vendors. Coordinate closely with engineering teams to ensure materials meet technical specifications and approved samples. Review and validate material submittals, datasheets, compliance statements, and certifications before submission to consultants. Ensure all procured materials comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and international standards. Monitor procurement schedules, track deliveries, and ensure timely arrival of materials to avoid site delays. Coordinate with logistics teams for shipping, customs clearance, storage, and site delivery arrangements. Maintain strong communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve procurement‑related issues. Support cost control efforts by identifying cost‑saving opportunities, alternative materials, and value‑engineering options. Prepare procurement reports, dashboards, and updates for senior management and clients. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, supplier performance, and procurement logs. Ensure proper documentation for material inspections, testing, and approvals. Participate in coordination meetings with project, engineering, and commercial teams. Implement procurement risk management strategies and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly. Support final handover documentation by providing procurement records, warranties, and compliance certificates. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum 8–10 years of experience , with strong GCC experience in procurement for building and infrastructure projects. Strong technical knowledge of civil, architectural, MEP, interior fit‑out, and building envelope materials. Proven experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and procurement documentation. Excellent understanding of international standards, authority requirements, and compliance procedures. Strong coordination skills with engineering, commercial, logistics, and site teams. High attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple procurement packages, solve problems quickly, and work under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, procurement software, and documentation workflows.
