Duties - Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. - Monitor and document vital signs, medication administration, and patient observations to ensure safety and well-being. - Support patients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences. - Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance mental health and reduce feelings of isolation. - Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols such as HIPAA regulations. - Support clients with transportation to appointments or community activities using personal transportation assistance when necessary. - Follow individualized care plans diligently while respecting residents’ rights and promoting dignity in all interactions. Skills - Prior experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or dementia is highly valued. - Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in condition or behavior promptly. - Knowledge of assisted living, geriatrics, hospice care, home health services, and long-term care environments. - Ability to perform patient transfer methods safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer boards; heavy lifting may be required. - Excellent communication skills for client interaction, family updates, and team collaboration. - Certification in CPR and First Aid to respond effectively during emergencies. - Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, HIPAA compliance, and resident’s rights regulations. - Capable of performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
