This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in power systems, high-voltage electrical engineering, and system design to solve complex power quality challenges. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with utility companies, engineering teams, and project managers to deliver innovative solutions that ensure compliance with industry standards and optimize electrical system reliability. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will drive improvements in power distribution efficiency and safety across various infrastructure projects. Duties Conduct comprehensive power quality assessments, including harmonic analysis, transient detection, and voltage stability evaluations using advanced tools such as MATLAB and specialized power systems software. Develop detailed system designs and schematics for high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software. Implement engineering troubleshooting techniques to diagnose issues related to power disturbances, equipment failures, or system inefficiencies within utility electrical systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards Work can be performed remotely, but prefer candidate with New England roots or experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced certifications in power systems or project management are a plus. Proven experience in power distribution engineering within the utility or energy sector, with a strong understanding of high-voltage electrical systems and AC/DC electrical systems. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation; experience with MATLAB for system analysis is highly desirable. Knowledge of NFPA 70 compliance, IEEE standards implementation, NEC requirements, and NESC guidelines. Mechanical knowledge relevant to systems engineering and construction processes is advantageous. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex electrical problems efficiently. Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Referral program Work Location: Remote
