This hybrid role combines rigorous investment analysis with hands-on trade execution. The successful candidate will generate and evaluate ideas, analyze positions and market conditions, and execute approved trades with accuracy and sound judgment. The role requires strong practical knowledge of options strategies, especially covered calls and hedging structures, as well as fluency with trading platforms, market data, portfolio analytics, and risk concepts. This is a high-trust seat on a small team, offering direct access to principal and meaningful involvement in portfolio decisions involving significant capital. Key Responsibilities · Investment and market analysis: Research securities, sectors, industries, and relevant economic developments; evaluate opportunities and risks; and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations. · Trading ideas and strategy analysis: Generate and assess options and securities ideas, with particular attention to covered-call, income-generation, and hedging strategies. Model potential outcomes, trade-offs, and downside exposure. · Trade execution: Prepare and execute approved trades in options, equities, and fixed income. Confirm order details, monitor fills, and maintain discipline around price, timing, liquidity, and execution quality. · Portfolio and risk monitoring: Track positions, exposures, performance, concentration, liquidity, and relevant options Greeks, including delta, gamma, theta, and vega. Identify unusual activity, emerging risks, or deviations from strategy and elevate them promptly. · Financial modeling and scenario analysis: Build and maintain models for valuation, payoff analysis, stress testing, and strategy comparison to support portfolio and trading decisions. · Reporting and communication: Prepare concise portfolio updates, performance reports, risk summaries, trade rationales, and ad hoc analyses for principals. Explain conclusions clearly and distinguish facts, assumptions, risks, and recommendations. · Trade operations and controls: Support trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and recordkeeping; investigate discrepancies; maintain accurate data across trading and portfolio systems; and strengthen repeatable controls and processes. · Investment diligence: Assist with evaluation of new securities, strategies, managers, and investment opportunities as priorities evolve. Required Qualifications · At least 3 years of relevant experience in portfolio analysis, investment research, or trading at a hedge fund, proprietary trading desk, bank, RIA, private investment office, or comparable investment organization. · Hands-on knowledge of options strategies, including covered calls and hedging structures, and a strong working understanding of derivatives and portfolio risk. · Demonstrated ability to analyze positions and markets, develop well-supported ideas, and work accurately with real capital. · Strong quantitative, financial-modeling, and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel. · Fluency with trading platforms and market-data or analytics systems such as Bloomberg or comparable tools. · High attention to detail, disciplined execution, sound judgment, discretion, and integrity. · Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analysis and recommendations directly to principals. · Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications · Experience with portfolio or risk platforms such as Bloomberg AIM, Eze, Addepar, or comparable systems. · CFA designation, progress toward the CFA, or relevant securities licenses such as Series 7 and 63. · Experience with fixed income, alternative investments, or direct investment opportunities. · Working knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA, or other tools used to improve analysis, reporting, or workflow efficiency. Position Details Work arrangement: Full-time and in person. Specific location is disclosed during the interview process. Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
