You will prepare machines and attachments for delivery, assist with loading and unloading, support customer collections and keep the yard clean and orderly. You will work closely with our service, parts and sales teams to ensure equipment is ready when required and customers receive prompt, helpful service. You may from time to time be expected to attend off-site for routine servicing. All work must reflect our core principles of Respect, Honesty and Ownership . Key responsibilities Yard organisation and housekeeping - Keep the yard, internal workshop and designated storage areas clean, tidy and safe. - Store machines, buckets and attachments in their allocated locations. - Keep access routes, pedestrian walkways and emergency exits clear. - Dispose of waste correctly and report spillages, hazards or damaged equipment promptly. - Maintain a professional appearance throughout the depot. Machine preparation and movements - Wash and clean new, used and demonstration machines before delivery, collection or display. - Prepare buckets and attachments for customer handover. - Move and park machines safely, within your training and authorisation. - Complete basic visual checks and report damage, leaks, missing items or other concerns. - Assist engineers with straightforward preparation tasks under instruction. Loading, unloading and deliveries - Assist with loading and unloading machines, attachments, parts and other deliveries. - Use forklifts and other handling equipment only where trained and authorised. - Check incoming items against delivery paperwork and report discrepancies. - Record and report visible damage when equipment arrives or leaves. - Coordinate with colleagues and transport drivers to ensure safe, efficient collections and deliveries. - Ensure the required approval and paperwork are in place before releasing any machine, attachment or other stock. Customer care - Acknowledge customers promptly and provide courteous, helpful assistance. - Inform the relevant colleague when a customer arrives for a collection or delivery. - Help ensure customers are attended to without avoidable delays. - Check that the correct items are being collected and refer any uncertainty to the responsible colleague. - Handle customer equipment and company property carefully. Stock control and security - Support stock checks and maintain clear identification of machines and attachments. - Record equipment movements as required. - Report missing stock, unauthorised collections or discrepancies immediately. - Follow procedures for keys, machine access and depot security. - Complete allocated closing checks, including securing equipment, doors and gates. Safety and teamwork - Follow company safety procedures and wear the required PPE. - Report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions promptly. - Work within your training and ask for guidance when unsure. - Communicate clearly with colleagues about priorities, delays and completed tasks. - Carry out reasonable duties appropriate to the role, including general depot support. Essential requirements - A reliable, punctual and organised approach to work. - Ability to carry out the practical duties of the role safely. - Ability to work in Ireland - Willingness to work outdoors and undertake cleaning and general yard duties. - Good communication skills and a positive approach to customer service. - Ability to follow instructions, work independently and contribute to a team. - Care and attention when handling equipment and checking paperwork. - Willingness to complete relevant training. Desirable experience - Experience in a plant dealership, equipment hire business, transport yard or similar environment. - Experience moving construction machinery. - Forklift training or certification. - Full driving licence. - Familiarity with excavators, telehandlers, dumpers and access equipment.
