Plant Nursery Team Leader

A well-established wholesale nursery is looking to employ a permanent Team Leader. We produce pack bedding for garden centres, large estates and landscape designers. We are a small family business that’s been trading in since 1971.

From the suitable candidate we will require the following:

• Lead and support a small team on growing-related tasks such as machinery set up and maintenance, monitoring and supporting productivity targets and agreed quality standards
• Lead teams on Despatch lines to select and prepare plants for sale, ensuring consistency and quality
• Previous experience with Passfield/Wintree (horticulture production system) desired, but not essential. Candidate must be willing to learn basics and happy to produce own record keeping in Word and Excel, use email and phone and be a great problem solver.
• Flexibility across the business as necessary-despatch, production, grounds maintenance, office.
• Clear communication skills
• Mandatory Spraying (knapsack) course and Counterbalance course-candidate would be qualified or happy to qualify. Employer will cover the cost of the course, if required.
• Mandatory participation in Weekend Watering rota when required by the business (short shift every few weeks)
• Ensure you and your small team are working safely and complying with relevant legislation and established Nursery procedures.

Pay: Up to £13.86 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 28.0 per week
