We are seeking an experienced Pet Resort Operations & Development Consultant to advise on the development, opening, and ongoing operations of a new pet resort in Taipei, Taiwan. This is a part-time contract position that will be primarily remote, with occasional travel to Taipei as needed during key phases of development, pre-opening, and operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing, opening, and operating pet resorts, boarding facilities, dog daycare, or similar pet hospitality businesses . Experience working with a multi-location or professionally managed pet resort organization is strongly preferred. Responsibilities The consultant will work with ownership and the local project team to provide guidance in areas including: Review and advise on facility layout, design, and operational flow during build-out Recommend operational requirements for guest intake, boarding, daycare, pet handling, cleaning, feeding, and related activities Advise on equipment, fixtures, kennels/enclosures, and operational infrastructure Develop or review standard operating procedures (SOPs) Establish best practices for animal safety, sanitation, cleaning, and incident prevention Advise on staffing structure, labor planning, job responsibilities, and employee training Assist with pre-opening planning and operational readiness Recommend reservation, customer management, pet management, and other operational systems Advise on pricing, service offerings, capacity management, and day-to-day operating procedures Review operations following opening and recommend improvements as needed Help ownership establish scalable processes that could support additional locations in the future Qualifications Qualified candidates should have: Significant hands-on experience in the pet resort, pet boarding, dog daycare, or pet hospitality industry Experience opening, managing, or supporting the development of new pet resort locations Strong understanding of daily facility operations, staffing, safety, sanitation, and customer service Experience developing operating procedures and training programs Experience with a multi-location pet resort or pet care organization preferred Ability to work independently and provide practical, actionable recommendations Comfort working remotely with an international project team Ability to travel to Taipei, Taiwan periodically if required. Experience working on international projects or adapting U.S. pet resort operating practices to overseas markets would be a plus, but is not required. Engagement This is a part-time independent contractor / consulting engagement . The expected workload will vary depending on the stage of the project, with greater involvement anticipated during design review, pre-opening, and initial operations. The majority of the work can be performed remotely. Periodic travel to Taipei may be requested based on project needs. Depending on performance and candidate's interest, this can develop into a full-time position. Work Location: Remote
