People Operations Specialist

We’re looking for a People & Culture Operations Specialist who loves bringing structure, clarity, and care to the employee experience. In this role, you’ll be the engine behind our HR operations—making sure policies, programs, and people practices run smoothly, compliantly, and with a human touch. You’ll partner closely with leaders and employees across the organization, supporting everything from employee relations and compensation to learning, development, and talent initiatives. HR Compliance & Administration (Mexico) Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Mexican labor laws and regulations, including LFT, IMSS, INFONAVIT, SAR, STPS, and applicable government reporting requirements. Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with local legal requirements while aligning with global standards. Administer and maintain confidential employee records, including contracts, payroll-related documentation, benefits enrollment, promotions, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and terminations, in compliance with data privacy regulations. Support audits and inspections from labor authorities and ensure timely and accurate documentation. Maintain HR metrics related to headcount, turnover, recruitment, compensation, and employee engagement. Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes in line with global People & Culture standards and Mexican labor requirements. Partner with hiring managers and external recruiters to manage job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, offers, and hiring documentation. Oversee compliant onboarding processes, including employment contracts, IMSS registration, and internal inductions. Conduct exit interviews and manage separation documentation to ensure legal compliance and identify drivers of employee turnover. Employee Relations & Performance Management Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution in accordance with Mexican labor law. Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and people programs. Support the administration of performance management and salary review processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance. Promote a positive employee experience and support engagement and organizational culture initiatives. Benefits & Compensation Administer local benefits programs, including IMSS benefits, private health insurance, life insurance, savings funds, pensions, vacation, sick leave, maternity and paternity leave, PTU (profit sharing), and employee assistance programs, as applicable. Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communication in collaboration with external vendors and brokers. Conduct labor market benchmarking and wage surveys to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related business field. Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or multinational environments. Strong knowledge of Mexican labor law and compliance, with experience serving as the local HR point of contact and coordinating closely with a U.S.-based HR team. Payroll processing experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems. Fluency in Spanish and English, written and spoken (required). Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Clear, effective communicator.
