People and Talent Lead
Company Overview
ONLC has helped people learn new technology for more than 40 years, and today works with organizations on AI training, support, and advisory. Our work depends on a network of expert instructors and mentors. We are looking for the person who builds and cares for that network, and who becomes the first face many of our contractors know at ONLC.
What you'll do:
- Keep a steady flow of new instructor and mentor prospects coming in through social channels, brokers, and referrals.
- Hold short exploratory conversations that turn promising prospects into a vetted, ready-to-assign bench.
- Act on early warnings from our course market-signal system, joining a regular review with our learning-product and marketing leads, so you know where the bench will be thin before it becomes a problem.
- Place contractors into public classes, private engagements, and mentoring work, and negotiate rates.
- Balance assignments fairly across the contractor bench, honoring any guaranteed commitments, so good trainers stay engaged with us.
- Keep trainers' skilling plans moving: agree on goals like a new certifications, track them in our systems, and follow up personally when a commitment slips.
- Close skill gaps by recruiting new talent or upskilling existing trainers on certification or new course content.
- Make sure every scheduled class has a confirmed, qualified trainer three to four weeks before it runs, and find a substitute from the bench when a trainer can't teach.
- Manage the automated processes that handle class scheduling, confirmations, and reporting, and resolve the issues that arise.
- Capture what you learn about trainers (strengths, constraints, availability, evaluation results) in our systems, so scheduling decisions draw on it and the knowledge never lives only in your head.
- Prototype improvements to our sourcing process with AI tools, and hand them to our technical team to put into production.
You might be a fit if you:
- Build relationships easily and enjoy staying in touch with people over time.
- Have recruited, sourced talent, or managed a contractor or freelancer network.
- Are comfortable with data: you can read a dashboard and turn it into a plan.
- Work well alongside AI tools and can tell when an automated result looks wrong.
- Bonus: familiarity with IT training, Microsoft Certified Trainers, or professional services.
What you won't do:
- Run payroll. That sits with our payroll partners.
- Build the data systems behind your dashboards. That sits with our technology team.
- Manage courseware, classroom images, or day-of-class technical support. Those sit with our courseware and facilities teams.
