We are looking for candidates with strong experience in one of the following roles: · Payroll Specialist · Payroll Manager · Payroll Officer · Senior Payroll Administrator The Role This is a standalone payroll role, but you won't be on your own, you'll sit within our HR Operations team, working closely with colleagues across the People Team, and acting as the vital link between Best Lives and our outsourced payroll provider, RSM. We're looking for someone who already has the experience to hit the ground running and wants to bring that experience to bear, this role is not for someone looking for their next step up, but someone who wants to make a genuine, hands-on difference to how payroll runs. You'll manage weekly and monthly payroll cycles, process accurate data and validations, and constantly look for ways to improve processes, efficiency and service. If you're CIPP qualified, great. If you're not yet Level 5, but have the right experience, we'll support you to work towards it alongside the role. What We Offer · Permanent role with salary £32,000–£35,000 · Hybrid and flexible working, based from either our Chorley or Huyton offices · Support towards CIPP Level 5 for the right candidate · Real ownership of the payroll function, with the backing of an HR Operations team around you · A supportive, values-led organisation Key Responsibilities · Own the coordination of weekly and monthly payroll submissions across multiple locations · Act as the primary liaison between Best Lives and our outsourced payroll provider, RSM · Ensure payroll data is accurate, complete and submitted within agreed deadlines · Review payroll information and resolve discrepancies or queries promptly · Process payroll adjustments, advances and off-cycle payments · Manage employee payroll queries with clear, timely responses · Complete year-end activities and support statutory submissions to HMRC and pension providers · Produce payroll reports and management information as required · Build strong, collaborative relationships with managers, colleagues in HR Operations, and RSM · Identify and lead improvements to payroll processes, systems and service About You · Significant payroll experience - you know the job and want to put that experience to work · CIPP qualified, or working towards Level 5, or open to studying towards it with our support · Confident processing accurate data and managing validations independently · Strong relationship-building skills, comfortable managing an outsourced provider relationship and working closely with internal colleagues · Sound working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements · Strong Excel and payroll systems skills · Naturally focused on improving processes, efficiency and service, not just maintaining them #BL1 Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year Benefits: Referral programme Application question(s): Please tell us why you would like to work for Best Lives?
