Parts Manager and Service Writer
Team Stradale is a multi-faceted business in Joliet, IL. We currently operate a race car autoshop, sell parts, and build out custom race cars. We are currently seeking to hire a full time Parts Manager that can be efficient in inventory management and organization, service writing, and record keeping. This position will require placing, tracking, and follow up of orders in addition to thorough record keeping to insure car compliance on the track. IMSA and motorsport familiarity will be advantageous. You will be a key part of the crew - supporting the shop and keeping operations running smoothly. Your Responsibilities: Oversee the parts department and inventory, ensuring accuracy, availability, and readiness for shop and track operations Manage the ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking of all components, consumables, assemblies, and subassemblies Maintain and optimize the management software (MSA) for ticketing and timely invoicing Shipping and receiving for the overall business and verifying related invoices Building and maintaining standardized processes for inventory control, reorder points, vendor management, quality checks, and overall operation improvements Prepare parts for mechanics and daily shop operations Prepare and pack parts for events, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with series regulations - this may include build out documentation. Team collaboration across the shop, coaches, mechanics, and admin staff. Working with the shop manager and consultants to forecast needs and support car builds, repairs, and development projects. Manage returns, warranty claims, and vendor relationships with professionalism and efficiency. Perform routine inventory counts and reporting Support the team at offsite events with emergency part sourcing and part information Assist with fleet maintenance of company vehicles Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready parts department. Work Requirements: Minimum of 3 years in parts management or purchasing/inventory control Highschool diploma or equivalent Knowledge of automotive repair terminology and processes Ability to read and interpret motorsport parts manuals and technical documentation Understanding of GT3, LMP2 or similar high-performance race components and assemblies (preferred) Proficiency with inventory management systems Strong skills in tracking, reporting, record keeping, and data accuracy Working knowledge of international shipping processes, including customs documentation, global logistics, and brokers Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS shipping systems Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational staff Familiarity with “Lifecheck” parts lifeing a plus Ability to multitask, prioritize workflow, and time management Ability to lift and move parts and equipment safely in a shop environment A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and prevent issues before they arise This position is not a typical M-F role, schedule will be FT but may vary on days depending on department coverage and busy season (April-October).
