In this role, you will drive the creation and enhancement of high-performance paints and coatings, ensuring they meet rigorous quality standards and customer expectations. Duties Develop, formulate, and optimize paint products by applying advanced knowledge of chemistry, materials, and manufacturing processes. Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to improve product performance, durability, and environmental compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer service to ensure seamless product development cycles. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for schematic design and technical drawings related to product applications. Manage projects efficiently using tools like Microsoft Project and Lean manufacturing principles to meet development timelines. Perform system design and troubleshooting involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical schematics, and system debugging for process automation. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Support manufacturing processes through process improvement initiatives, maintenance planning, and construction inspection activities as needed. Engage in analysis using MATLAB or Python for data modeling and simulation to inform product innovations. Maintain laboratory safety standards while ensuring compliance with industry regulations related to oil & gas or other relevant sectors. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus. Proven experience in product development within the paints or coatings industry is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in CAD drafting (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks for technical schematics. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for analysis and system modeling. Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in French or other languages are advantageous. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including construction experience or construction inspection is beneficial. Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including PLCs and schematics for automation systems. Skilled in project management tools like Microsoft Project and organizational skills necessary for multitasking across multiple projects. Experience with laboratory testing methods related to product formulation and analysis skills for quality control purposes. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles coupled with time management skills to optimize workflows. Ability to operate computer systems proficiently with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with CAD software for drafting purposes. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
