Overview This is a maternity cover role ensuring events and hospitality services at Ware Priory are delivered to a high standard — working closely with the Sales, Marketing and Operations Manager to co-ordinate event delivery, supervise bar and event staff, and uphold the compliance, safety and service standards that underpin the Priory’s reputation as one of Ware’s most valued heritage and commercial spaces. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Operations Supervisor to lead our daily venue operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee event setups, coordinate staff, ensure smooth service delivery, and maintain the highest standards of quality. Your leadership will be instrumental in creating memorable occasions for our clients while ensuring operational efficiency. Responsibilities Supervise daily venue operations, including event setup, breakdown, and ongoing service activities Coordinate and motivate team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet event requirements Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies Manage vendor relationships and coordinate logistics for supplies and equipment Monitor event progress, troubleshoot issues promptly, and communicate effectively with clients and staff Maintain detailed records of events, incidents, and operational activities to support continuous improvement Experience Proven experience in event management, hospitality, bar management or venue operations with a focus on supervision or team leadership Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate staff and engage clients effectively Ability to problem-solve quickly and adapt to changing priorities seamlessly Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to event venues is preferred Experience with scheduling software or venue management systems is a plus Public License Holder (or willing to obtain) Stock, till and cash handling Willing to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays Join us as an Operations Supervisor and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering unforgettable events.
