As a Licensed Mechanical Engineer, the position provides technical supervision of distillery equipment (Maddie and Magnum), boiler, LPG tanks, water treatment systems, and other mechanical systems. The Operations Supervisor leads production activities, preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, manpower allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Distillery Operations Supervise daily distillery operations, including preparation, distillation, blending, packaging, and related production activities. Ensure production activities are performed according to approved SOPs, work instructions, GMP, and safety procedures. Monitor production parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, tank levels, distillation time, and other critical operating conditions. Ensure proper operation of pot stills, columns/plates, condensers, pumps, tanks, piping systems, and other process equipment. Monitor production output, yield, losses, and equipment efficiency. Coordinate with Production and QA/QC personnel to ensure products meet established specifications. Identify operational issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. 2. Equipment and Mechanical Systems Oversee the proper operation, inspection, and maintenance of distillery machinery and mechanical equipment. Supervise the maintenance of water treatment, boiler, LPG tanks, FDAS, and other mechanical systems. Conduct equipment troubleshooting and provide technical recommendations for equipment breakdowns and operational issues. Review equipment condition and recommend repair, replacement, modification, or upgrading when necessary. Ensure equipment guards, safety devices, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, and other critical components are properly maintained. Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers for equipment inspection, repair, calibration, and technical services. 3. Boiler and Utility Operations Supervise the safe and efficient operation of the boiler and associated steam system. Monitor boiler operating pressure, fuel consumption, water supply, blowdown, and other critical parameters. Coordinate boiler preventive maintenance, inspection, and servicing. Monitor utilities such as water supply, cooling water, electricity, compressed air, LPG/fuel, and water treatment systems. Identify opportunities to reduce energy and utility consumption. Ensure proper operation of cooling water pumps, condensers, water treatment systems, and other utility equipment. 4. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for production and utility equipment. Ensure timely execution and documentation of preventive maintenance activities. Supervise corrective maintenance and emergency repairs. Maintain equipment history, maintenance records, inspection reports, and spare parts requirements. Establish critical spare parts inventory for essential distillery equipment. Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize production downtime. Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions. 5. Production Planning and Manpower Supervision Coordinate daily production activities based on the approved production plan. Assign tasks and responsibilities to operators and production personnel. Monitor attendance, work performance, productivity, and compliance with operational procedures. Train and coach operators on proper equipment operation, troubleshooting, GMP, and safety practices. Ensure adequate manpower coverage during production and maintenance activities. 6. Safety and Regulatory Compliance Ensure all operations comply with company safety policies, GMP requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable Philippine laws and regulations. Conduct routine inspections of production areas, equipment, utilities, and work practices. Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures. Ensure proper implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work, confined space, hot work, and other applicable safety procedures. Participate in emergency preparedness, incident investigation, and corrective action programs. Coordinate with the company's safety, environmental, and compliance personnel regarding regulatory requirements. 7. Quality and GMP Compliance Ensure production activities follow approved GMP and sanitation procedures. Coordinate with QA/QC regarding product quality concerns, deviations, and corrective actions. Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of tanks, stills, process equipment, and production areas. Monitor and document process deviations and equipment-related quality issues. Support investigations involving product quality, process deviations, and production losses. 8. Documentation and Reporting Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. Maintain records of production output, equipment utilization, downtime, maintenance activities, utilities consumption, and production losses. Review and update SOPs, work instructions, preventive maintenance procedures, and equipment operating guidelines. Maintain equipment technical documentation, manuals, inspection records, and maintenance history. Prepare reports and recommendations for management regarding operational and equipment improvements. 9. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, equipment reliability, energy consumption, product yield, and operating costs. Participate in process optimization and equipment improvement projects. Evaluate proposed equipment, technologies, and engineering solutions. Assist in capacity expansion, equipment installation, commissioning, and plant modification projects. Conduct basic engineering assessments and provide technical recommendations to management.
