Operations Manager - Ecommerce (Part Time)
Location: Greater LA Area, Hybrid Type: Part Time ~20 hours / week (Transitions to Full Time as we grow) About Matty’s Room Matty’s Room is a fast-growing premium ecommerce baby brand. We’re a small, hands-on team building thoughtfully designed products for modern families. We’re looking for a smart, resourceful Operations Manager to help run the day-to-day operations behind our growing business. This is a part-time role with the opportunity to transition into a full-time, long-term position as the company grows. We care more about how quickly you learn , how you solve problems, and how much ownership you take than how many years of experience you have. This is deeply hands-on: no task is beneath you . We’re a small team building quickly, and the person who thrives here will be equally comfortable thinking strategically and rolling up their sleeves to solve whatever needs solving. What You’ll Do Customer support: Develop customer support policies and processes, handle support inquiries, and analyze recurring issues and customer feedback 3PL & fulfillment: Research, evaluate, and help set up an East Coast 3PL; manage relationships and troubleshoot fulfillment issues with our warehouse partners Reverse logistics: Build and manage processes for returns, exchanges, replacements, and returned inventory Packaging: Create product labels, source packaging suppliers, and coordinate the development and ordering of custom shipping boxes Logistics: Troubleshoot shipping issues and work directly with carriers, warehouses, and other logistics partners Inventory planning: Analyze sales and inventory data to help forecast demand and determine when and how much inventory to reorder Operational analysis: Maintain spreadsheets, reports, and operational checks to identify problems and opportunities for improvement Hands-on operations: Occasionally visit our Southern California warehouse to inspect returns, inventory, packaging, or product issues Special projects: Jump into new operational projects as the business grows and help turn them into repeatable processes Team building: Help hire, train, and manage junior operations and customer support associates as we grow Qualifications What We’re Looking For Fast learner who can quickly understand new tools, systems, and processes Highly organized and detail-oriented Resourceful—you’re comfortable figuring things out instead of waiting for instructions Strong sense of ownership and follow-through Tech-savvy and comfortable working across different software platforms Must have a car and be able to drive to our warehouse Strongly preferred Ecommerce operations Shopify, Zendesk / Gorgias 3PL and fulfillment operations Ocean freight logistics Google Sheets / Excel Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Work Location: Hybrid remote in Los Angeles, CA 90006
