Location: North London

Working pattern: Full-time, on site, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

Salary: £48,000–£55,000 per annum (proposed, subject to approval)

Contract: Permanent

Baruch Enterprises Ltd is looking for a practical, resourceful Operations Manager to help lead and improve operations across the company.

This is a broad, hands-on role covering people, processes, administration, suppliers, stock and logistics. Some existing systems and processes need to be built or improved, so the successful candidate must be comfortable creating structure, solving problems and making sure improvements become part of day-to-day work.

THE ROLE

You will work across the business to keep operational activity organised and moving. You’ll coordinate work across relevant teams, monitor delivery and identify gaps, while developing processes that help the company operate more efficiently.

You’ll also oversee stock planning, prepare purchasing recommendations for director approval, coordinate inbound shipments from supplier dispatch to warehouse arrival, and maintain supplier, quality and certification processes. The role includes supporting company setup administration, recruitment activity and the administrative side of overseas projects.

You’ll prepare weekly reports covering key departments and activities, and identify practical ways to use current AI tools and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate operational activity across the company and identify ways to improve efficiency, communication and delivery.
  • Coordinate and monitor relevant staff tasks and deliverables, identify delays or gaps, and work with managers and directors to resolve them.
  • Develop practical solutions to operational problems and follow through to make sure they work.
  • Create, document and improve operational processes, then help embed them into day-to-day work.
  • Build and maintain a rolling stock and purchasing plan using sales information, current stock and supplier lead times.
  • Monitor stock levels and prepare clear, evidence-based purchasing recommendations for director approval.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments from supplier dispatch through to arrival at one of the company’s warehouses, working with the Warehouse Manager at handover. Warehouse receiving and outbound deliveries remain with the warehouse team.
  • Monitor supplier delivery, product quality and responsiveness; establish a process to record performance and follow up recurring issues.
  • Maintain relevant product certification and quality documentation, keep records current and flag gaps to the appropriate people.
  • Review recurring customer feedback about product or delivery issues and coordinate follow-up with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Prepare weekly reports covering key departmental activities, progress, issues, risks and follow-up actions.
  • Use Sage, Granite and other relevant systems to support accurate information, administration and reporting.
  • Work with colleagues on operational requirements for stock integration between Sage and the company websites.
  • Identify and use suitable AI tools and automation to reduce repetitive administration, improve efficiency and support reporting. Check AI-generated outputs before they are used.
  • Provide administrative support for company setup activities and overseas projects.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding when required, and flag operational staffing gaps.
  • Provide occasional hands-on support during periods of annual leave or sickness absence.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have experience in a broad operations role, or in a related role with responsibility across several operational areas.
  • You are organised and administratively strong, and can keep multiple tasks, records and priorities under control.
  • You can build workable processes where systems are limited, document them clearly and help others follow them.
  • You are comfortable monitoring task delivery, identifying problems and working constructively with colleagues to address them.
  • You have some experience with international suppliers, imports or inbound freight.
  • You have used an inventory or ERP system and are confident working with spreadsheets and operational information. Sage experience is useful.
  • You can prepare clear, concise reports and communicate issues, risks and actions.
  • You are confident adopting current digital and AI tools to improve efficiency, and can use them with sound judgement.
  • You are resourceful and practical, and can find solutions when plans or processes are not working.
  • You communicate clearly with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
  • A CIPS or other relevant qualification would be advantageous, but practical experience is the key requirement.
  • Experience with batteries or electrical products is not essential; product knowledge can be learned.
