The Role This is not your typical Office Manager role . We're not looking for someone to simply keep the office organised, complete administration and pick up everything other people haven't done. We're looking for someone who can help us run and continually improve the operating system behind our business. Like many successful owner-led businesses, Shrigley Rose has grown significantly and, as a result, too many day-to-day questions, decisions and problems still find their way back to the Directors. Your role will be to change that. You'll become the central point of operational accountability across the business , making sure people know what they are responsible for, priorities are clear, agreed actions happen and nothing important falls through the cracks. Your varied role will include: - Overseeing the smooth day-to-day operation of the business. - Maintaining visibility of outstanding tasks, client communications, enquiries and commitments. - Holding team members accountable for agreed actions and deadlines. - Managing workloads and priorities across the team. - Conducting regular one-to-ones and supporting team performance. - Identifying potential sales opportunities, actions, service issues and potential problems before they escalate. - Taking ownership of customer complaints (not that we get many!) and service escalations. - Supporting the team in resolving difficult client situations. - Protecting and continually improving our client experience. - Creating, documenting and improving processes and procedures. - Ensuring important business knowledge doesn't simply live inside people's heads! - Identifying duplication, bottlenecks and inefficient ways of working. - Maintaining operational KPIs and management information. - Coordinating holidays, absence and appropriate team cover. - Supporting recruitment, onboarding and people processes. - Managing day-to-day supplier relationships. - Ensuring agreed standards and procedures are consistently followed. - Overseeing regulatory compliance, Health & Safety and company procedures, while proactively identifying and addressing compliance risks. - Helping create a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement. - Ensuring the business continues to operate brilliantly when the Directors aren't there. We don't expect you to personally do everything . In fact, that's the opposite of what we're looking for. Your job is to ensure the right person owns the right thing and gets it done to the right standard. Person Specification OUR NO.1 PRIORITY KIND, HONEST, POSITIVE AND A GENUINELY GOOD PERSON. Culture matters enormously to us. You will need to be approachable and supportive while also being comfortable maintaining high standards and having difficult conversations when necessary. EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with proven experience in operations, management or leadership. Estate agency or property experience would be ideal, but we will consider applications from other industries. You may currently work in estate agency, professional services, hospitality, luxury retail, recruitment or another fast-paced, high-service environment. For us, exceptional operational leadership capability is more important than simply having worked in estate agency before. You will ideally have experience of: - Managing and developing people - Working in a fast paced sales environment - Operational management - Process improvement - Performance management - Customer service - Complaint resolution - Managing competing priorities - KPI reporting - CRM/workflow systems - Recruitment and onboarding - Implementing change Skills & Characteristics You will be: - Exceptionally organised - Proactive - Accountable - Growth Mindset - Calm under pressure - Confident and decisive - Assertive without being abrasive - Commercially aware - Detail focused - Process driven - Tech savvy - An excellent communicator - Comfortable having difficult conversations - Naturally curious - Solutions focused - Adaptable - A strong team player - Someone who follows things through to completion You will have a well-developed sense of humour and enjoy being part of a close-knit team. Most importantly, you'll be someone who doesn't wait to be told there's a problem. You notice it. Own it. Resolve it. And then ask how we make sure it doesn't happen again. You'll Probably Love This Role If... You enjoy turning chaos into structure. You get genuine satisfaction from seeing a business run brilliantly. You like helping people become better at what they do. You naturally question inefficient processes. You thrive from working in a fast paced sales environment. You don't walk past something that isn't right. You enjoy responsibility and autonomy. And when somebody says: "That's just how we've always done it..." ...your instinct is to ask: "But is it still the best way?" Application Please email your CV together with a brief covering note or ideally a video explaining why you think you'd be a great fit for Shrigley Rose.
