Operations Manager

Location: Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Dubai, UAE Industry: Foodstuff Trading, Warehousing & Logistics Employment Type: Full-time Experience: 3–5 years preferred

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Warehouse Operations Executive to manage and coordinate daily warehouse activities at our JAFZA facility. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of JAFZA rules and regulations, UAE customs procedures, warehouse management, and inventory control.

Candidates with hands-on experience in cold storage operations, foodstuff handling, and temperature-controlled warehousing will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations

• Manage daily warehouse activities, planning receiving, unloading, put-away, storage, picking, packing, loading, and dispatch.
• Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space, pallet positions, and storage facilities.
• Monitor inventory movements and maintain accurate stock records.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff, transporters, customers, and internal departments.
• Supervise loading and unloading of containers and ensure cargo is handled safely.
• Monitor warehouse productivity and ensure operational procedures are followed.

1. JAFZA & UAE Customs Compliance

• Maintain a good understanding of JAFZA rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Handle warehouse-related documentation and coordinate with customs clearance teams.
• Understand relevant customs documentation, including Bills of Entry (BOE), delivery orders, import/export documents, and cargo transfer documentation.
• Coordinate with customers and clearing agents to ensure smooth cargo movement and timely clearance.
• Ensure warehouse receipts, stock movements, and dispatches are properly documented and compliant with applicable procedures.

1. Cold Storage & Food Handling

• Manage day-to-day operations of temperature-controlled warehouses and cold rooms.
• Monitor and maintain the required storage temperatures for different food products.
• Ensure proper storage, segregation, handling, and preservation of foodstuff products.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, pest control, and product traceability procedures.
• Monitor temperature records and report any refrigeration issues or temperature deviations.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO principles are followed wherever applicable.
• Minimize product damage, spoilage, stock discrepancies, and operational losses.

1. Inventory & Warehouse Management System (WMS)

• Update and maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Coordinate receiving, ASN processing, put-away, GRN finalization, stock transfers, and dispatch documentation.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare stock reports, inventory summaries, and operational reports.
• Ensure proper pallet identification, location management, and traceability of goods.

1. Team Coordination & Safety

• Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, forklift operators, helpers, drivers, and other operational staff.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and warehouse operating standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions throughout the facility.
• Identify operational issues and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain.
• Practical knowledge of JAFZA procedures and UAE customs regulations.
• Previous experience in cold storage or temperature-controlled warehousing is highly preferred.
• Experience handling foodstuff, FMCG, or perishable products is an advantage.
• Knowledge of warehouse documentation, inventory control, and stock reconciliation.
• Experience using a WMS or other warehouse/inventory management software.
• Good coordination, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational priorities.
• Willingness to work at the JAFZA warehouse facility in Dubai.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates who have worked with foodstuff trading companies, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, cold storage facilities, or bonded/free-zone warehouses will be preferred.

Practical knowledge of JAFZA cargo procedures, import/export operations, temperature-controlled storage, and food safety requirements will be a significant advantage.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
