We provide new, reconditioned and rental stairlifts to customers across the region, supported by our installation, servicing and customer support teams. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to join our senior management team and take ownership of the day-to-day operational performance of the business. This is a key leadership position with significant responsibility and the opportunity to make a tangible difference to how Leodis operates. The Role As Operations Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective management and continual improvement of our operational functions, including installation, servicing, engineering, warehouse and wider operational activities. Working closely with the General Manager and other members of the management team, you will ensure that our operational teams are well organised, properly resourced and equipped to deliver an efficient, professional and consistently high standard of service. You will be a strong people leader with excellent commercial judgement, capable of working strategically while remaining hands-on and involved in the detail when required. The role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, improving processes, and making things happen. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of Leodis' operational functions. Lead, manage and develop our installation engineers, service engineers, warehouse and operational teams. Set clear standards of performance, accountability, and behavior. Ensure workloads, resources, and staffing levels are planned effectively. Monitor operational performance against agreed targets and KPIs. Identify operational risks and take proactive action to resolve issues. Work closely with senior management to support the continued growth of the business. Installation & Service Operations Work closely with Sales and Planning to maximise installation and service capacity. Ensure engineering resources are scheduled and utilised efficiently. Monitor engineer productivity, installation volumes, service response times, and outstanding workloads. Ensure installations and service work are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. Identify opportunities to reduce delays, repeat visits, and inefficient use of engineering resources. Oversee the effective operation of out-of-hours and on-call arrangements. Take ownership of significant operational issues and ensure they are resolved promptly. People Leadership Provide strong day-to-day leadership to the operational workforce. Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance. Manage performance issues effectively and fairly. Identify training and development requirements. Promote a positive culture built around teamwork, accountability, and high standards. Ensure appropriate standards of attendance, timekeeping, conduct, uniform, and vehicle use are maintained. Work closely with HR / General Manager and the wider management team on employee relations matters. Continuous Improvement A major part of this role will be identifying ways in which Leodis can operate more efficiently as the business grows. You will: Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Introduce more efficient ways of working across Operations, Installation, Service and Warehouse. Reduce avoidable delays, administration, duplication, and unnecessary costs. Improve communication between Sales, Planning, Operations, Warehouse and Management. Develop clear and consistent operational procedures and standards. Measure the impact of improvements and ensure they are maintained. Fleet, Equipment & Facilities Oversee the effective management and utilisation of company vehicles and operational equipment. Ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained. Monitor operational expenditure and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency. Manage relationships with relevant suppliers and external contractors. Ensure operational premises and warehouse areas are maintained to appropriate standards. Customer Experience Customer experience is fundamental to the success of Leodis. You will ensure that operational decisions are made with the customer in mind and that: Customers receive professional, reliable, and consistent service. Operational issues affecting customers are dealt with quickly and effectively. Installation and servicing standards remain consistently high. Operational teams understand the importance of communication, professionalism, and customer care. Issues are resolved collaboratively with Sales and Customer Service. Opportunities to improve the customer journey are continually identified. Performance & Reporting You will provide management with clear visibility of operational performance, using data and KPIs to identify trends, issues and opportunities. Key areas will include: Installation volumes and capacity. Engineer productivity and utilisation. Service response times and outstanding workloads. Repeat visits and operational failures. Labour and operational costs. Absence and staffing levels. Vehicle and equipment utilisation. Warehouse performance and stock availability. Customer complaints and operational issues. Overall departmental performance against agreed KPIs. About You We are looking for an experienced operational leader who can demonstrate: Significant management and team leadership experience within a fast-paced environment. Experience within a service, engineering, installation, field-based, logistics or customer-focused business would be advantageous. A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams. Strong commercial and business judgement. Excellent organisational and planning skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Experience managing KPIs and using data to improve performance. A genuine track record of implementing process improvements. The ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong IT, Excel and data analysis skills. A hands-on, practical approach to operational management. The confidence to challenge existing processes and introduce better ways of working. A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to take ownership and turn ideas into action. Most importantly, you will be someone who takes responsibility, leads from the front, and is motivated by achieving results.
