# Operations Manager **Integrated Logistics Solutions LLC** · Virginia Beach, VA 23464 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Operations Manager — Last Mile Delivery We’re Looking for the Person Who Knows Where the Wheels Are Going Last-mile delivery is a precision operation involving people, vehicles, routes, safety, compliance, technology, customer experience, and a scorecard. We are looking for an Operations Manager who has the skill and ability to turn daily operations into productive, measurable execution. If you know last-mile delivery , understand the operational model behind large-scale e-commerce delivery, speak DOT compliance , know your way around Cortex , and can translate a scorecard into action, we should talk. The Role The Operations Manager is the operational bridge between business strategy and what happens on the road every day . You will oversee the day-to-day operation of a high-volume last-mile delivery business, including dispatch, Delivery Associates, fleet readiness, route execution, safety, compliance, customer experience, and performance management. You will serve as the primary operational leader for our dispatch team—making sure dispatchers aren't simply reacting to problems but are actively managing the business against established objectives, service levels, and scorecard metrics. You will need to be equally comfortable looking at a performance dashboard, coaching a dispatcher, reviewing a route, addressing a safety issue, communicating with our client, and asking the uncomfortable question: “Why did this happen, and what are we going to do differently tomorrow?” What You'll Own Operations & Last-Mile Execution Lead daily last-mile delivery operations from pre-dispatch through route completion. Ensure routes are staffed, dispatched, monitored, and completed efficiently. Identify operational bottlenecks before they become service failures. Monitor route execution, delivery performance, attendance, productivity, and operational capacity. Develop processes that improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability. Maintain operational readiness for normal volume fluctuations and peak periods. Dispatcher Oversight Directly supervise and develop the dispatcher team. Establish clear expectations for dispatcher performance and accountability. Ensure dispatchers actively monitor routes rather than simply responding to driver calls. Create consistent escalation procedures for late departures, route delays, vehicle issues, safety events, missing packages, customer issues, and other exceptions. Review dispatcher performance against operational KPIs and scorecard objectives. Coach dispatchers to make decisions based on data, not emotion or guesswork. Scorecard & Performance Management Own the operational response to scorecard performance. Analyze trends and identify root causes behind performance gaps. Convert scorecard data into specific corrective actions. Establish measurable improvement plans and follow through on execution. Identify relationships between staffing, training, dispatch decisions, fleet readiness, route execution, and customer experience. Communicate performance clearly to leadership and the client. Client Management Serve as a professional and highly responsive operational point of contact for the client. Build credibility through consistent execution, transparency, and follow-through. Understand client expectations, contractual requirements, performance standards, and escalation protocols. Translate client objectives into actionable requirements for the operations team. Communicate operational challenges without creating operational drama. Protect the client relationship by identifying problems early and bringing solutions—not excuses. Safety & DOT Compliance Maintain a deep working knowledge of applicable U.S. Department of Transportation regulations and commercial transportation requirements . Ensure operational practices support driver safety and regulatory compliance. Monitor hours-of-service requirements, vehicle inspections, maintenance issues, driver qualification requirements, and other applicable compliance obligations. Reinforce safe driving, vehicle operation, loading, parking, backing, and delivery practices. Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions. Maintain a culture where safety is an operational requirement—not a poster on the wall. Technology & Data Demonstrate working knowledge of Cortex and the technology used to monitor last-mile delivery operations. Use operational data to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement. Understand how driver behavior, route performance, attendance, fleet readiness, and dispatch decisions affect business results. Use technology as a management tool—not simply as a reporting screen. What We're Looking For Required: Significant experience managing last-mile delivery operations . Deep understanding of large-scale e-commerce last-mile delivery operations. Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation compliance . Demonstrated experience managing dispatchers or a dispatch operation. Working knowledge of Cortex is required. Experience managing against operational scorecards and KPIs. Strong client-facing communication and relationship-management skills. Experience coaching employees and holding teams accountable for performance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment. Excellent written and verbal communication. Willingness to work a schedule aligned with delivery operations, including weekends and holidays when operationally necessary. The Person Who Will Succeed Here You are probably not the person who needs a perfectly organized day before you can get anything done. You understand that last-mile operations move quickly. A driver calls out. A vehicle won't start. A route falls behind. A dispatcher misses an escalation. Volume changes. A client wants an answer. You are resourceful. You don't panic. You prioritize. You communicate. You make the decision. Then you document it, fix the root cause, and make sure it doesn't become tomorrow's problem. You know the difference between being busy and running an operation . You can look at a scorecard and tell us what happened. More importantly, you can tell us why it happened, what it means, and what we're going to do about it. Performance Expectations The Operations Manager will be expected to establish and maintain accountability for: Route completion and service performance On-time departure and delivery performance Attendance and staffing reliability Dispatcher performance Driver productivity Safety performance DOT compliance Vehicle readiness and fleet availability Customer experience Package and route quality Scorecard performance Employee development and retention Operational cost control Client satisfaction Why This Role Matters A great Operations Manager makes the business look easy. The routes leave on time. Drivers know what they're doing. Dispatchers know what they're watching. Vehicles are ready. Problems are caught early. The client gets answers. The scorecard tells the story you want it to tell. That's the job. We're not looking for someone to manage today's problems. We're looking for someone who can build an operation that creates fewer problems tomorrow. Apply If... You know last mile. You know dispatch. You know compliance. You know Cortex. You know what a scorecard is really telling you. And you know that “that's just how delivery works” is not an acceptable root-cause analysis. If that sounds like you, we want to meet you.
