About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director for an established organization operating in the bakery, food retail, and franchise industry.

This executive leadership position is responsible for overseeing multi-unit operations, franchise and retail performance, commissary operations, supply chain management, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will drive business performance, strengthen operational standards, and lead cross-functional teams toward sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across retail, franchise, commissary, supply chain, logistics, and operations support functions.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead regional and functional managers to achieve operational and financial performance targets.
• Oversee multi-location business operations and strengthen operating standards.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Monitor operational performance indicators and implement corrective measures.
• Oversee commissary production, procurement coordination, inventory management, and logistics performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, product quality, and operational standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen efficiency and service delivery.
• Collaborate with marketing and other departments on product launches, business programs, and operational improvements.
• Oversee employee training, leadership development, and implementation of standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in multi-unit retail, food service, bakery, manufacturing, or franchise operations.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing multiple operational functions or regional/business-unit leaders.
• Proven accountability for large-scale operations and profit-and-loss (P&L) performance.
• Strong experience in multi-location operations, franchise management, and operational performance.
• Knowledge of commissary or production operations, supply chain management, logistics, food safety, and quality systems.
• Strong strategic planning, business analysis, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
• Willingness to undertake regular site and regional visits.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Training or certification in HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, supply chain management, or strategic leadership.
