This role is based in the Transport Department at FS Distribution. It will be primarily focused on supporting the Transport Managers, particularly with the Pallet Network offering. This role will evolve over time and will ultimately cover all aspects of the transport tasks to be able to provide cover for colleagues and ensure the smooth running of the FSD fleet at all times. Key requirements will be supporting the other Depots and drivers with queries. The successful candidate will be well versed in administration, communication, and IT and have a confident and positive style. They will be enthusiastic with a desire to progress. Responsibilities and Duties Reception duties Answering inbound calls to the office and transferring to relevant personnel, greeting visitors to the company site. Communication at all levels Communicating with clients and colleagues is essential with this role, particularly e-mail and telephone communication. The maintenance of your client and driver relationship is key. Telephone / e-mail support You will be required to provide professional telephone support for all aspects of the Pallet Network & Palletways activity. This includes handling driver, depot and direct customer queries. You will become the first point of contact on all Pallet Network & Palletways shared inboxes and will be responsible for ensuring these are answered and handled in a timely manner. Training and development It will be important that you become an “expert” in all aspects of the Pallet side of the business. You will become one of the “go-to” personnel in the business for queries. Colleague cover / workload management You will ultimately be required to cover certain aspects of the department at different times. General Business Support You will be required to support the business with additional projects and other adhoc work from time to time. Flexibility to move quickly from task to task is a key requirement. Skills required: Competent in all Microsoft packages Enthusiastic and willing to learn Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Keen to work as part of a team Flexibility Qualifications required (preferred not essential): Minimum qualification GCSE or equivalent Minimum of 3 years previous Transport / Vehicle Management (or similar) experience Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Hours to be worked between 8.30am and 5.30pm (with 1 hour lunch break) Salary & Benefits: Circa £26,500 (dependent on experience) 22 days holiday per annum (plus Bank Holidays) EAP scheme for all employees Pay: From £26,500.00 per year Benefits: Company events Company pension Free parking Health & wellbeing programme On-site parking Referral programme Sick pay Work Location: In person
