POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a hands-on Odoo Techno-Functional professional with strong Odoo Accounting knowledge and good understanding of the overall Odoo ERP ecosystem .

This is not a pure Accountant position . The candidate must understand how Accounting integrates with Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Logistics, CRM, HR and other Odoo modules, and should be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve functional and technical issues.

Minimum 3 complete Odoo business/accounting cycles is mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Odoo Accounting – Strong Functional Knowledge

· Chart of Accounts, Journals, Taxes and Fiscal Positions.

· Customer/Vendor Invoices, Credit/Debit Notes and Payments.

· Bank Reconciliation, AR/AP and Aging.

· General Ledger, Trial Balance, P&L and Balance Sheet.

· Analytic Accounting and Multi-Currency.

· Payment Terms, Deferred Revenue/Expenses and Assets.

· Inventory Valuation and related accounting entries.

· Month-end and Year-end closing.

· Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.

1. Overall Odoo ERP – Functional Knowledge

Strong understanding of end-to-end processes across:

· Sales & Sales Orders

· Purchase & Purchase Orders

· Inventory & Warehouse

· Logistics & Delivery

· CRM

· Products, Categories, Pricing & Pricelists

· Stock Valuation & Landed Costs

· Manufacturing, where applicable

· HR/Employees and basic Payroll

· Approvals, User Access and Reporting

Must understand complete workflows such as:

Sales → Sales Order → Delivery → Invoice → Payment → Accounting

Purchase → Purchase Order → Receipt → Vendor Bill → Payment → Accounting → Inventory Valuation

1. Techno-Functional Responsibilities

· Act as a bridge between business users, Finance, Management and Odoo developers.

· Analyze business requirements and convert them into Odoo solutions.

· Identify whether issues are related to configuration, access rights, data, workflow or customization.

· Configure, troubleshoot and test Odoo processes.

· Understand Odoo models, fields, workflows and basic technical architecture.

· Review existing customizations and coordinate with developers.

· Prepare test scenarios and conduct UAT.

· Support implementation, migration, upgrades and process improvements.

· Train users and prepare SOP/process documentation.

TECHNICAL & SCRIPTING SKILLS

Practical knowledge of:

· Python

· Odoo ORM

· XML

· SQL / PostgreSQL

· Basic JavaScript

· Odoo Studio

· Automated Actions / Server Actions

· Scheduled Actions / Cron Jobs

· Data Import/Export

· API concepts

· Basic debugging and log analysis

Candidate should be capable of writing or modifying basic-to-intermediate scripts for automation, data manipulation, validation, reporting and troubleshooting.

MANDATORY – THREE COMPLETE ODOO CYCLES

Candidate must have independently handled at least 3 complete Odoo business/accounting cycles , including:

Operational Cycle: Sales/Purchase → Inventory Movement → Delivery/Receipt → Invoice/Bill → Payment → Accounting Entry

Monthly Cycle: Reconciliation → AR/AP Review → Inventory Valuation → Adjustments → Month-End Closing → Reporting

Year-End Cycle: Full-year processing → Closing → Carry Forward/Openings → Financial Statements → Audit Support

Candidates with only data-entry or limited Odoo Accounting experience will not be considered sufficient.

ODOO VERSION EXPERIENCE

Experience with multiple Odoo versions is preferred.

Experience across Odoo 7 to 18/19 , including migration or upgrade projects, will be highly desirable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.

· 4–6 years of hands-on Odoo experience , with strong Accounting exposure.

· Strong accounting knowledge combined with overall Odoo ERP understanding.

· Proven techno-functional experience.

· Practical Python/scripting knowledge.

· SQL/PostgreSQL knowledge.

· Experience working with Odoo developers or implementation partners.

· Minimum 3 complete Odoo business/accounting cycles .

· Strong troubleshooting, analytical and process-mapping skills.

· Good understanding of ERP workflows and accounting impact.

Current job title is not the deciding factor. Actual hands-on Odoo capability, Accounting knowledge and techno-functional experience are the key criteria.

The role is intended for a hands-on Odoo Techno-Functional professional , not a conventional Accountant who only uses Odoo for accounting transactions.

Only candidates with proven practical, hands-on Odoo experience will be considered.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
